Last month hubby & I took our parents on their first ever business class flight using our ff points to book ASA flights. These flights were booked last year prior to the Emirates deal, they were originally from Singapore to Frankfurt then when the Emirates deal occurred the flights were changed to go via Dubai, we weren't too happy as we had elderly parents with us but not much we could do about it. As we didn't have enough points for the 5 of us to fly business we paid for hubby's flight.
On return from our trip only my husbands points & status credits had been awarded so the rest of us put in a missing points claim, after 2 weeks of no points appearing in the account I rang the ff centre, they were very efficient & rang me back within the hour saying they had awarded the points & status credits for our flight but it was only awarded as if we had gone direct from Singapore to Frankfurt, 160SC's.
After checking hubby's activity statement I found he had received points & status credits applicable to his flight, Singapore to Dubai 120SC's & Dubai to Frankfurt 100SC's & thought this very unfair that the rest of us didn't get the same in status credits, particulary as the extra flight was not our doing & we had actually flown 2 flights instead of 1.
I emailed QFF stating my case, also mentioning the extra flight was not our choice & an extra burden with elderly parents & reminding them what a loyal customer I have been for the last 17 years. This is the reply I got back "Thank you for contacting The Qantas Club and FrequentFlyer Service Centre.
When a member's flights are involuntarily rerouted, points are awarded according to the original booking details.
I'm sorry I was unable to assist as requested on thisoccasion."
What I would like to know if anyone has had a similar experience?
Also does anyone think it's worth trying again?
Thanks In Advance
