Anyone having problems with the NEW seat selection?

Hi all, have been trying to look at / change seatselection for upcoming QF flight. It appears they have changed the site - new look. But I can only get to the first page - wont allow me to continue on.

Anyone else tried the new page, and results???

Works ok for me.
When you say the first page, do you mean the page after you click seats in MMB? This is where I see the changes.

I get a message saying seat selection is not available for this flight. J class on QF mainline flight next Friday.

New design abit clunky. Took a few minutes to spot the dropdown menu that switches between flights. And on the ipad pro to confirm selections the bottom of the screen is hidden and needs scrolling up to expose the accept button. Enhancements-a-plenty.

When I get to this screen, as soon as I hover mouse over the "next" button, the mouse pointer changes to a red circle with red cross bar, and nothing happens when I click there?

Edit - I thought I was getting that as well in Opera, but it seems you can't click on NEXT unless you've made changes. The NEXT button isn't used for progressing to look at the next flight.

That's right, to select seats for the next flight (and any subsequent flights) you need to select from the drop-down flight listing box. Not a very intuitive redesign.

What happens if you select 4C - does the screen change to something like this:

Seems to work for me. Using the Qantas app.

I think I understand it now.

If you go to first flight and are happy without change, you are blocked from selecting "next" (have to instead select next flight manually)

And if you select a new seat, on the next screen (which highlights the seat change) again you cannot use "next" - you have to yet again select the seat change!

OMG, how to take the "intuitive" concept back about two decades....... :/

I didn't have a problem until this change. Phoned up for seat selection without issue.

Used to be easy and simple. Why change?

Took me a couple of tries on Friday or Saturday to change my selections for upcoming flights. Figured it out in the end but just seems to be totally unnecessary fiddling.

It took some time for QF to include the "Skip" function in the old selection process.

Before then, it was a PITA, especially in circumstances where while you had previously selected a seat it was still showing that seat but coming up with the binary aisle or window selection. If you want to change a seat for a later flight you had to call otherwise you'd lose your seat selection.

I’ve got a flight Perth to Sydney on the 747. All it displays for the lower deck is a bunch of numbers and some letters that look vaguely like a seat map. When I click on upper deck, that decks displays ok. I don’t understand why they changed this. It worked so well before.

I'm seeing the same thing. Only a problem for the Main Deck in a 747 international flight, while Upper Deck is fine. Tried three different browsers with the same result.

I've got the exact same issue with a flight back from HKG in a couple of weeks. Luckily I'd already selected my seat but would agree with the sentiments upthread about making the experience LESS intuitive. Annoying really!

I haven't had issues myself but hate the new look.. it seems like a downgrade to me, and looks worse on the app.. IMHO

Just think, somewhere there is an IT geek that just loves the way the codes and scripts look in the back end. It seems totally lost on them it's harder to use for the customers. There was a separate issue where seat changes via the QF app would not stick if you were changing after you'd already checked in.

An Airbnb host in ADL said you just double accept although I haven't been game to try this myself. What's annoying is that it looks like the change has been saved as the app reflects the 'new' seat however in Altea it's the original one.

That pic looks like a vertical seat map in native Amadeus. The dots mean the seats are available. I think I read elsewhere if you click on the dot it will allocate the seat.

"Next" doesn't seem to work for me either, but if I select the particular sector from the drop down list (top right of screen, under the heading "Flight 1 of X" - it takes me directly to that flight's seat selection, which then works.
