Booked flights from Perth to coughet via Kl with Auntybetty in April, leave in one week, got informed today by MH that our connection in KL had changed a few hours ( no big deal ), then a few hours later another change this time leaving KL to coughet the same time we arrive in KL from Perth.Rang KL Australia they informed me to contact TA ( Auntybetty) you ring a contact number with recorded message, saying “ this is a online booking site etc etc, any , rang back MH and got the same original story, any advice much appreciated.

The Contact Us page on their website states that sending an enquiry online to their specialist teams is the fastest way to get a response from the right team:

Sorry to hear your problems. I used them last year and after the payment, I received from Auntbetty the airline (Thai) booking number so after that everything (actually just seat selection) was done via the Thai Airlines web site. Just like QFA /manage booking. And when I contacted Thai (ironically about a quick connection) they had no problem confirming details using that (their) number, and advised that if my arrival was late I would simply be put on the next flight.

Is it the same airline Perth-KL-coughet? If your dealing directly with MH make sure you give them their airline booking reference, not the Auntbetty booking or reservation number. Auntbetty sometimes confusingly call their number "Reservation Number" and sometimes "Booking Reference", and call the airline number the Booking Reference.

I just looked at my old emailed PDF receipt that Auntbetty sent. The Booking Reference number (ABxx_xx_) requested on the form in AIRwin's link is (obviously) the Auntbetty Booking Reference number, but on your PDF receipt there is another number (under what Auntbetty calls there the "Reservation number" ABxx_XX) unfortunately also called the Booking Reference number which is the "true" airline booking number for if/when you deal with the airline. Good luck.

An update on Auntybetty, I tried all avenues last night to no avail, then went on FB / Messanger and on there was a 1300 number( different from other avenues) so I rang it and BINGO, i get Manila call centre, a really very helpful agent too and promised a resolution today , and I got a reshuffle on flights , this time instead of the ( original ) one and a half hour layover, then changed to no time in between , now a 5 hr layer over , can handle that ( in the lounge), Soooooo all came out satisfied, BUT WONT USE BETTY AGAIN,thanks everyone for your input.

The process that MH directs you back to Aunt Betty is correct for something like this. Seating, meal requests, passport information etc can be managed with the airline direct, but when it comes to anything schedule or change related, you’ll 99% of the time be directed back to the booking agent.

If someone wants a fare that is cheap, thendon’t be surprised if the post booking service is difficult. The two don’t necessarily go together. The savings for the cheap booking have to come from somewhere and that is normally in the service side. That said, anyone who has booked with QF and experienced their hold times could argue going direct can be worse!

Yes, risk vrs reward. I prefer, and usually, deal directly with airline/hotel/car hire. I tried auntbetty because of the reward... huge difference in $ compared to airline price in my booking. If tempted I'd suggest manage the risk by only using an Australian online agent, and most importantly only on a reliable full service airline so to min the probably of needing a post booking service. Air China anyone?
