Hi all.

Slightly strange request here. I have $100USD in vouchers for Cathay Pacific to use by May 28th, but don't have any Cathay flights booked. If anyone is flying Cathay before then, could we meet up and you use them on my behalf? I'd let you know what I wanted on duty free, all you'd have to do is claim it for me. I know this a big ask, but they would go to waste otherwise and really am looking for some help please. Happy to meet anywhere in Sydney to discuss.

Alternatively, I'm also flying out of Sydney on Friday morning (13th May) on Qantas, so if anyone is flying out Fri morning, will gladly meet you at the international airport and in exchange I can take you through the fast tracked security and guest you into the 1st lounge.

Greatly appreciate any help!

Jas

Wouldn't you have better luck giving them away or selling for a nominal amount? Are these vouchers linked to another condition like an additional $100 Usd spend?

Would have liked to have used them if possible. Did try listing on Ozbargain, but no bites. Even here, struggling to find anyone at all flying CX.

Nothing conditional at all- they are literally vouchers for $100USD to use for in flight duty free or towards a flight.

Clear delineation between CX travellers and SQ travellers - 100s of $s worth of Changi Vouchers given away free to whoever could use them in SQ Tips Trips and Tales thread - here vastly diff scenario - go figure. ;)

I would love to help you out jaskie but CX flight not until 03 June. As long as it is not duty free alcohol you can give vouchers for me to try and use if no one else has been able to assist.

Are you the one giving Changi vouchers away? Love to have some for July/August. Times are tough. ;)

Maybe I'm confused - but this didn't come across as a freebie here - the condition was that someone would only be picking up duty free for the OP (whihc the OP would select). Not having the vouchers for themselves to use?

I'm flying CX next week, but having to collect an item, carry it back and then post/hand over seems a lot.

Which bit you confused with MEL? LadyC gave me $80 worth of Changi vouchers FREE which she could not use before they expired - I then donated $80 to RCH GF Appeal as I wasn't comfortable with freebies. heg sent me $180 in Changi vouchers FREE because they were going to expire - unfortunately they took 3 weeks BNE to MEL and did not reach in time - but given away FREE - clear now? I think it is called sarcasm.

I flew CX ex MEL a week ago but like you this type of request not for me.

Re: Rumour:[Denied by RR] Qantas to ban JQ SYD-MEL pax from F lounges & send to J lou

I wasn't necessarily confused by your post CE... just from other posts I wondered if I had misread the OP and they were actually meaning to give them away for free? but reading the OP again, it seems not.

That's why I was confused!! (although I'm easily confused anyway :))

FREE TO GOOD HOME

1 X CX Duty Free Voucher value $50 if you spend $500 - expires dec 31, 2016 - not greatest value but free to anybody if they can take advantage - just answer this simple multiple choice question - 'Tommy or penegal are likely to buy me a beer':
a) This year
b) This millenium
c) Never
I am in MEL but happy to post it anywhere. MEL if you want it any answer you give will win.

The answer is of course A. I would love the voucher if you it's weighing you down. Times are tough and the wife has expensive tastes. Travelling CX in 3 weeks.

Oh and I just saw the fine print.

It's all your's TwiggyK - pm me your address and I'll post to you today mate.

Oh and FTR - I am not expecting that beer period - those 2 dudes suffer same physical characteristics - short arms / long pockets!

Hi JohnK, thank you for the very generous offer. I called Cathay to see if I could extend past the expiry date- no go :(

Completely understand mate. It is a big ask, especially for a stranger. I was hoping to find someone in Sydney, so that I could have given them some express passes, or something to make it worth their while. Lunch at a minimum

I don't think it is a big ask. Some people are used to giving things away. Not everyone is the same.

Johnny still waiting for a postal address to send this off to you?
