Been a while since the announcement now and, unlike the BKK/LHR and HKG/LHR changes, still nothing in the timetable for the QF metal SYD/SCL flights. I see the International Air Services Commission has allotted the requested seats today.

Anyone have an idea when the flights will go live on the booking system or even what the flight numbers might be?

The last flight to Buenos Aires is 24 March, 2012.

The first flight to Santiago is 26 March, 2012.

Don't know when you can book them.

Where is the SCL information from? Qantas Premium couldn't advise either date other than "early 2012." That said, a flight search clearly illustrates the last date of EZE.

I would be interested to know as well. I hope to vist SCL in Nov 2012 for a conference and hope to score a J award for my +1!

the flights have not been loaded in the GDS yet but if it is on the QF agent website that should be right.

I have a return trip from EZE-SYD after March next year and as per Qantas instructions (email) I tried to get the rebooking sorted (I assume it will be changed to fly QF via SCL?) but when I phoned they were unable to make the rebooking yet. They have "promised" to contact me as soon as it is possible. Will advise when that happens.

Cheers,

Update to my response to your original question r.e. when QF SYD/SCL flights go live:

NOT SOON ENOUGH!

Just came back from Chile via EZE. I am a fairly tolerant traveller, I am always polite and smile at security staff, customs officials, etc, but Jesus did those Argentines test me yesterday. Every single one surly and abnoxious! As for the OW lounge in EZE, it is already infamous. I overheard some fellow Aussies in there commenting it was the worst lounge they had encountered, anywhere. Was going to interject and ask them if they had suffered the experience of travel through Quito, but kept to myself. By comparison Santiago airport is wonderful. Thank you Qantas for making the change, whenever it happens. I have some very good Argentine friends, but their airport is a pig of a place. An absolute circus, just not a funny one. Makes me want to avoid the entire country, forever.

"Don't cry for me Argentina..."

*finishes rant*
