HKG at $599 is an amazing deal.
I too would have missed this without it being highlighted on AFF.

Lady Cool Cat and myself took advantage of this same deal in May this year, which was my first trip to Honkers.

I fell in love with HKG, so much so we've booked again , Mid June - to Mid July 2016.

Cheap seats on the return sector can be found in July too ( although not a lot of range of dates for the cheap return seats).

We'll use this booking as a great stopover destination to Europe.

Now looking at all the options to get to PRG in time for a mates wedding on June 25th

$10/SC is better than what's achievable on most domestic flights. Shame about the 9 hour time commitment.

Couldn't resist locking in a couple of weeks in June next year. Fantastic pricing for a legitimate fare and will mean I can enjoy a few days in HK then pop into China and perhaps do the North Korea visit that has been on the bucket list!

I tried going out on 04 June and returning 16 June and there were no specials, only saver, for the return leg. Tried a few different dates and still the same. Noticed someone posted something similar in another thread.

I posted that despite trying many variations in available dates during the travel period I could only get a combined fare of around $799 ex SYD. Plenty of out bound sale fares but only saver fares for return, so bait and switch to a higher deal.

Probably all sold out BY now, i don't think QF would have made too many available at that price. Before I posted I checked availability and could find those fares from MEL/BNE/SYD, I can't. Remember what dates though.
