I see Scoot is advertising an open jaw sale. Fairly restrictive insofar as cities involved, but it got me wonding if this is unusual or whether most sales can be open jaw by using the multicity functions?

Or with Scoot you could just book two one ways to/from anywhere in their network. Not sure of any advantage of having it all on the one ticket.

Perhaps they are using the marketing to stop people booking one way and then looking for another (perhaps more convenient) carrier for the return.

I was assuming there would be a cost saving, but I have not really looked at the price of one way over open jaw return.

When I did a sample booking it was just pricing them as two one ways - ion fact for some flights the open jaw pricing was more expensive than booking two one way! (Example NRT-PER on 26 Jan was $816 if booked as an open jaw return, but only $762 if booking as a one way ex NRT. The other prices were same same give or take a couple dollars).

Flying in to Manila and out of Clark is an interesting choice to use as an example of an 'open jaw'.
