Anyone else get it? Pretty damn good. Just solved my VA requal debate I've been having with myself.

From now until 31 August 2018, American Express Velocity Card Members can take advantage of up to 30% off selected domestic and up to 25% off selected international Virgin Australia operated flights. * Sale fares include Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class.

Simply book your flight via this dedicated Virgin Australia offer page and use your American Express Velocity Card to make sure you're earning Velocity Points. ^ Don't forget to add your Velocity membership number to your booking to earn more Points when you fly.

Hurry, this limited time offer ends at 11.59pm AEST on 31 August 2018. For travel from 1 October 2018 to 21 June 2019. A 45-day advance purchase period applies.

Hi swanning_it, you need to use the AMX30 code too. I've posted T&C's to the VA promo code and AmEx credit threads.

I'll have a good look at this but in the past the fares VA select are usually not ones that I want to select. Fingers crossed this time!

And the "dedicated Virgin Australia offer page" is...?? ;-)

LAX J is about 5k return or 4k if you went one leg Premium.

Decent fares to HKG < $2500 return. Is the Velocity AMEX really needed or using the code is enough?

I doubt it. It accepts any payment method at the end of the process.

Though the email has the wording " use your American Express Velocity Card to make sure you're earning Velocity Points " is actually implying any payment process can be used as they are reminding you that using the AMEX Velocity Card will give you Velocity Points.

I have no idea. I had to save the offer to the card, but that was before the email came out and from the email, it doesn't appear to require saving to the card. Surely if it's just a discount, clicking through and then paying will tell you fairly quickly ... you either get it or not, it's not as though it's a cashback deal.

Anyone booked this that does not have an Amex Velocity card to input?

Agree, it seems like just another % OFF discount code.

Looked at SYD-ADL and fares at $129 ow were same as everyday offers!

Were you looking at 45+ days from now? As per the T&Cs booking 45d + prior to travel is required

No kidding. This is NOT my first fare finder Rodeo.

When I went to school, latter November was a little more than 45 days out.

However if you can locate anything less than the standard $129 everyday fare please add your discovery here.

I presume there is little incentive to offer huge discounts for domestic flights. In my case, I just booked an international itinerary, in J, costing about $100 less than the price I got last night for a comparable economy itinerary.

What did I miss? VA don’t have that many Int routes and I couldn’t find J fare that is even close to Y.

So has anyone actually booked one of these that does NOT have that Virgin AmEx card, or does if falter at checkout of you do not input one?

My hunch is the Virgin IT chimps would not be capable of coding that tweak in, in but am asking anyway,

Have a normal Amex but not sure if that will work?

Literally the first search I performed was MEL-SYD on 17 Nov, and there are fares on numerous flights that day available for $109. Same deal on most days over the following couple of weeks.

BTW - the email said up to 30% off selected domestic fares - not 30% off every fare.

PS: just noticed that J fares on those same flights are just $356, which is (almost) 30% less than the $499 fare available without this offer. So there definitely are some deals to be had, even if it's not 30% off across the board.

Thanks for the link Bagpuss. Looking into it more, saved several $1000s on fares I booked. Some weird quirks in there.

A classic case of where a totally meaningless 2 word original thread heading, hid a real goldmine. :p

I see you can use this code and get J class to Lax for $4500 including Perth which not too shabby. Seems to be next year outside of holidays.

So for all your whining, you did alright then? Good, the two word title did work apparantly!

FYI, when I posted that "meaningless 2 word heading", it appeared to be a targeted offer and was apt.
