Have just been offered an amenity kit on Perth to SYD flight.

Wonder if they are back or just a one off?

Were you on an evening flight? I was given one on evening flights PER-SYD-PER in July - mind you, I was also in a great state of distress on both flights due to a family emergency so that may have accounted for it. No amenity kits offered on daytime flights to/from MEL in September though.

Just out of interest, were they a simple VA branded kit, or one of the fancy ones from international J?

Is someone smoking crack at VA? They are losing money, going A over T with losses and they put an offing amenity kit on a daytime domestic flight. Dumbarses have to be on the pipe :(

Amenity kits never have been taken off the Transcontinental flights.

If you ask you shall receive. They are only proactively offered on red eyes but always onboard and available. ;)

The Transcontinental amenity kits are not the long haul ones.
