Altitude online booking for business class came back as economy

Hi a family member booked a flight brisbane to perth for july using their altitude points. At the time of booking they picked business class button on the qantas flight as distinctly picking economy (which cost them 30,000 extra points to get business class). Today they found out that they are located in economy which is not what they selected. We are also travelling with them and we are in business so this is very distressing.

We cannot afford $1600 to Upgrade their seat to business, but we are looking for any other avenue to get them back in business class with us for the flight. At this point I can say Altitude with Westpac is fraudulent with on-line redemption and they will lose our business based on our current state of play.

Any help would be welcome.

I can't help with the upgrade but what does the redemption ticket say?
If it says Business then I'd take it up to the Financial Services ombudsman pronto. They usually get things sorted very quickly.
