I had planned to stay here at Easter but got side tracked to DXB, so I am here later than planned! For those not familiar with the Aloft concept, take out the marketing hype and you have a hotel that's basic but somewhat hip. Rooms are functional, no stocked mini bar and most of the items you find in the living room are in the bathroom (coffee/ tea making, cups, wardrobe etc).

The bathroom has a sliding door that covers with the shower or the loo, so don't say there are no choices LOL. The main room is very bare with a small couch, TV and king bed. As you would expect everything is new, but was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom fixtures, some were rusting.

Probably the highlight is the top floor pool and bar, although the pool closes at 7PM which to me is too early. There is a self serve snack area and also a restaurant on the first floor.

Overall it's functional, but given rates are not far of the Sheraton and Le Meridian, many would find value elsewhere, however for a points stay it's good value at 3k a night.

This looks somewhat nicer than the Alofts I've seen. Do they also have Bliss products here in those horrid wall mounted dispensers?

The location of the Aloft KL (unless I do want to be in Sentral) means I'lll wait for their big sister to open in 2016... but for now am happy with the Ritz Carlton which is heads and shoulders above any of the SPGs in KL, even though it's out of character from a decor standpoint for me.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for the quick review. Looks very similar to the aLoft Bangkok that was open around two years back. These places if staying for the night are great for BRG rates and 2,000 bonus points.
