The reviews on the net seem pretty limited... Has anyone used this lounge before? Is it any good?

Thanks very much in advance! Cheers!

suo03,

I have not used the Board Room at LAX but I have used the one in SEA.

Across the board the Alaska product is very good so I would be surprised if the LAX lounge was any different.

So what is the deal with lounge access, as far as I can tell only Alaska elite pax and board room members get access, is there any reciprocal membership for O/W or A/C?

Ditto Horizon.

I'm a lowly bronze so that's out of the question for me... but ive got 6 hours to kill in LAX and they offer a day pass for $30 USD

I had 5 hours to kill once :( Oops, didn't know I could buy a pass, actually didn't look into it. Sat outside, had hungry jacks and drank starbucks! How American!

Do WP/SG travelling in First Class with AA codeshares on AS metal get boardroom access?

Yes but I think it is more to do with flying in First rather than being WP or SG. I cannot find the link right now but I have seen it in the past and we have used the boardroom under the circumstances you mention.

I like the lounge in LAX. Better range of snacks than than the AA lounge. Free non-alcoholic drinks. Nice sofas and split up into various areas to get some privacy. Good views of the runway too.

I got in with Mrs Flying Fox using my QC card.

I have used the Board room in LAX and YVR many times. Your QC membership will get you in, they just take a note of your membership number in a book.

There is not free internet in the lounge but the alcoholic drinks are free however limited to 3 per person. I managed to get a few more by being nice to the staff. It was not help yourself when I was there, you had to ask and they bring them to you.

To get in you have to buzz the door, kinda like entering some secret cia building, it really doesnt look welcoming. If you are shy just wait for someone else and follow them in, but you might be waiting a while.

Not disputing your comment, but does anyone have a link stating this? I have previously looked at the Alaska Airlines Board Room entry requirements, and there is no mention of this

Can a Qantas Gold member travelling in Y on Alaska Air, or a QF code share on Alaska Air metal, enter the boardroom?

thanks

From Qantas.com.au

Access to Associated lounges

You will be welcome at associated lounges in most international ports that Qantas flies to but where it does not operate its own lounge or partner airline lounge. Our associated lounges are operated by, or on behalf of, other airlines.^^ Present your Qantas Club, Platinum or Gold Frequent Flyer card at check-in and again with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. You may also invite one guest. Again, both you and your guest need to be travelling together further that day on a Qantas marketed flight.++ If you are taking a domestic flight, your guest does not need to be travelling. ##

^^Lounges are not available in ports that are only serviced by Qantas codeshare flights.
++ Qantas marketed means a flight with a 'QF' flight number on your ticket.
## Domestic associated lounges have been re-branded Qantas Regional Lounge.

So this suggests that you need to be on a QF flight number (marketed) and that the AS Boardroom is considered an Associated Lounge

I have used the board room on about 8 occasions in the last year. I was on QF code share each time but Alaskan metal. Never had a problem getting in.
