But darling, I ONLY watched that video to pick up some more air safety ideas. :oops:

You never know when you might need to know the correct way of putting an airline seat belt on while reclining in a lounge chair on the beach. :oops:
 
No one has mentioned the real controversy - Betty White is one of the swimsuit models :mrgreen:
 
I both find it a little cringe worth, but at the same time AirNZ really has to be commended at making the safety demo interesting.

Whilst I remember how nervous I was on my first few flights over "what if" and as such paid close attention to the safety demo, these days I probably don't pay it enough attention, since I've "heard it all before", and dull monotone factual information hardly makes me want to sit up and listen.
 
I must say, I expected to be cringing a lot more than I did while watching that video. They've done a good job at reducing the cringe factor (no eyeful of coughs while watching the seatbelt demo for instance). But... it's still using women's bodies to sell something, really, in an arena where it is really not appropriate, and that makes me less likely to want to fly Air NZ. If they had included some half-naked men as well (more than just that one pool boy), maybe I might have a different view! I'm all for equal opportunity objectification. ;)
