A great unadvertised special on Air NZ business class fares. I just booked through Expedia for early May. Expedia was reporting 7500 sales and 6500 people looking at fares so not sure how long it will last. Books in Z class.

That didn't last long at all!! First time in awhile I've seen a mistake Fare from aus. Woke up, checked OMAAT, read luckys post and went straight to check but no go. Probably too many stateside jumping in on this already

A heap of people over on FlyerTalk where it was first posted and on OzBargain where it was poster later have gotten their tickets and selected seats. One person purchased multiple flights which have all been ticketed and he will credit the points to Miles & More which gives him Senator status.

I was around 2 minutes too late - have an itinerary through an OTA ( a friend of a friend owns/runs it). The fare got pulled as I was completing it.... waiting to see if the ticket can be issued, but I doubt it ....

Hi all sorry quick question, I have never booked an error fare before however I happened to be awake early this morning and managed to get a booking for myself and Mrs SoftDraw in February through Expedia. I received a confirmation from Expedia with an email of my itinerary and it states on the email that it can be printed and used as an E-ticket. However there is no E-ticket number showing and when I go to AirNZ website to manage booking it tells me that I need to call them to manage it.

Has anyone got any experience with this? Has my ticket actually been issued and should I call or not call Airnz to find out?

Also it has my allocated seats on the email intinary aswell.

I would call Expedia and ask them to send a copy of your e-ticket, or at the very least give you the e-ticket number. You may find however that Air NZ is not going to honour them ......I'll should have more info this afternoon. Our US cousins grabbed ( and had ticketed) quite a few, but as Australia woke up Air NZ cottoned on and cancelled the fare.

Quick update - when I log into Airnz now it lets me through and I can select my seats manage booking etc.

The general advice is to never, ever, call an airline regarding special fares. Wait until the dust settles. You should not book non-refundable hotels or connecting flights until you have certainty.

As tempting as it is, calling the airline serves no purpose. They'll either honour it, or they won't, and you'll find out soon enough what's going to happen. Sometimes airlines cancel some, but not all tickets. Attracting attention to your ticket doesn't help.
