AFF Gathering #10 has been chosen to be in Perth, so it's now time to pick a date for us all to meet there. As members may be available on multiple weekends, the option for multiple votes has been enabled, and all votes will be visible.

gwilli1 kindly collated all the events he could think of that might impact our plans, leaving five possible free weekends, however I have included slightly more options. Just remember, there's always going to be something that clashes, but we hopefully don't want to be booking flights and accommodation during school holidays or a major sporting event as prices are bound to skyrocket.

A previous version of this poll left out a few key dates, so a second poll has been created with a couple more entries.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Submitted my preferences. I would prefer if you avoid the major sporting events which I am likely to attend.

I thought this was a major event ? :)

Add MR to the program and it possibly even becomes a major "sporting" event!

.....Quick, close the poll. We have a date that 100% of respondents like!

is it likely that a second round of polling will take place?
I only as I have two acceptable dates for this , my voted for date only just shades my second choice .
that said my second choice means an extra few days Hotel accommodation is needed

I wouldn't think there would be a need for a second round of polling , unless we had a tie.

There will only be one poll.

That said, a tie could push us to a second poll, but I hope we don't have to go down that path.

My point is , that if you have say 7 people plumping for X date but 30 more with an alternative preference , would it not be a good idea to offer first and second preference?

I haven't got plans that far down the track so I won't vote now, but if in about a couple of weeks time it looks like it's going to be a tie, I'll randomly pick one of the dates.

The weekend of 2-4 September has the extremely sharp pricing SYD-PER available for the 95th birthday sale; assuming it's similar dates from other cities.

Good point. But we're it a fixed point in time ( every year) then planning would be simpler ( as Jessica Tam rightly points out KISS). Let's face it. We all know when Christmas is, and plan accordingly. Why not the same for the marquee AFF event?

Works quite well for Ozfest on Flyertalk.

For some reason people wanted the AFF equivalent event on random dates.

Because the most appropriate dates vary depending on the location.
