Hi,

Flying LHR - Houston return in July in business. BA direct or AA via Dallas (new 777-300ER)? Fares roughly the same.

Haven't flown either for ages - which is recommended?

Thanks!

BA, without doubt, especially as it is a direct service. I much prefer the BA J layout (especially if travelling alone).

Depends which cabin you are in.If Y take the direct service.if J or F I would fly AA.I dont like the BA J set up as we travel as a couple.Plus I have found the AA service to be more consistent than BAs.Have had some great service on AA to or from Europe.

Thanks - I am flying alone in J. AA apparently have the new CX type seat in business on this route I believe.

Best flight I have taken was an AA flight out of Aruba

I would usually pick BA over AA, but if you could get one of those new AA 777-300s they look pretty swish...

I do enjoy the CX business class offering - I think the seat is excellent. I doubt the AA service would be the same as CX but you can be surprised sometimes.

I've done the lhr-dfw with aa in business, all fine. Service good, seats not as comfortable by a long shot compared with the j seat in qf 747. Look forward to doing the flight in future with the newest plane being used though.

V keen to hear of new 777-300ER J.
Was taking one LAX-LHR but they delayed rollout a couple of weeks.
Now flying BA J BOS-LHR on 777 and already ticked off about no seat allocation available without $$$ :(

Keep in mind that there is no status bonus flying BA, which could tip the balance for some. I've always used BA trans-Atlantic but would try AA next time. They are an improved airline.

Sorry - ignorant on these issues. What do you mean? AA is better than BA for SC earn? Usually fly CX or QF in OW.
