Hi, wondering If I can get some advice as to the best cards and program I should be accumulating points on.

Current card situation:
partner has Amex platinum rewards maximiser. 180k in points. I am on there as the sup holder.

Earn is from cc spend approx 40k annually on Amex plus ATO payments approx 60k pa
visa spend about 30k not on any reward card just a No fee visa.

Like flexibility to be able to redeem On many airlines and don't plan ahead. From what I've read not enamoured with QFF at all seems high redeem rates and no availability.

Burn would be on business class flights aus - Europe. Flexible on where.

Last year flew MH from BNE to FFT via KL was great and very very low points used. Taxes and fuel was nearly $1,500 for two of us from memory.

Would love to hear what cards you guys would recommend we should be using, would like to be able to do a Europe business class trip for two each year, with churning cards and ATO payments (fees deductible) hopefully its doable and makes economic sense to chase.

Thanks in advance all u experts.

wondering where to go now since only get 0.5 points from ATO.

Dont earn anything from flights, is it better to buy upgradeable economy flights to earn and then Use points to upgrade for this annual trip.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There is good info on ATO in that thread. Your Amex Platinum has been useless for ATO payments since about July 22nd.
Look at Westpac Black Altitude or Earth.

Go for the Citibank Rewards Signature card, currently on a "fee free for life offer" - you can elect for points to go direct to QF if you wish.

See Citibank Australia

The reason I left the Citi offer out is because there are zero points for ATO. This offer is really good from Citi seeing we pay $1449 for our two different Citi Select cards each year.

Thanks guys, will look at all those including Citi for non-ATO. Been getting 0.5 points per $ on ATO recently plus fee, just hadn't got that "roundtoit" which I am now trying to find!

Citi can be a bit strange in the way they can deal with customers. Mrscove still think they suck but I now expect the unexpected so it is no great problem. Only about half of Citi customers share Mrscove's view.
Getting to YES for the card to issue to you can be a test so be patient, careful and then of course be patient again.
