Advice for cheap flights from AU - Tahiti - South America and onwards

Hi there,

This is my first post - so please redirect me if I am in the wrong forum.

We are flying Brisbane - Tahiti for our honeymoon in September 2015 and would like to fly onward to South America, North America & Canada and then back to Australia.

We are looking at keeping flight costs to a minimum - but would like advice to others of how much flights for these destinations would cost.

Our travel dates are flexible
BNE - Tahiti (booked for 15 September - but can be cancelled)
Tahiti - South America (any South America arrival city) (early OCT)
South America (any South America departure city) - Vancouver via North America (Early December)
Vancouver - Australia (Late Jan/Early Feb)

So far quotes - I have received have been about AUD$4500 per person. And would like to know if anyone knows a cheaper way to do this.

Have you tried checking yourself online? Use something like Skyscanner.

I guess part of your problem is they would be a series of one-way flights and Tahiti is not the cheapest destination.
