Advantage plus - ? free upgrades at Sofitel Sydney?

Hi am an advantage plus member and looking to stay at sofitel sydney.

Just wondering if I should book the hotel Classic Room King Bed through the accor website (it's $210/night for when I want to stay in April) ... is it likely that as an advantage plus member they may give me a free room upgrade?

The alternative is to book through the mystery "lastminute.com.au" room (which appears to me to be the sofitel sydney)...at $195 + $4.50 for credit card fees. ... and probably no chance of a free upgrade

Your chances of an upgrade are slim to none. They might only upgrade you if you were A|Club Gold or above or they really had zero classic rooms left.

I don't think it matters how you book your room, the only thing that changes is whether you can accrue A|Club points on bookings made outside Accor websites - which I don't think you can.

Agreed. You won't get an upgrade. I'd get a superior room if I were you. For a small price you will be in a much larger room. Their classic rooms are way too small.
