Hi all, apologies if this has been canvased before:

Husband is currently 200 SC off WP. Upcoming domestic legs and our outbound SYD-LAX trip in August will achieve enough SC and sectors to promote him. (Flying paid return PE and I also pool everything to him). Technically, he should become WP while overseas.

My question is this: Do we contact Velocity a couple of days after we fly out to LA and ask them to review? Or have people experienced this before and can advise me what to expect.
It won't make a huge difference to us while we're there (2 weeks), but it would be nice to have an earlier window of opportunity to upgrade to Y+ on our many domestic legs with Delta - (T-72 I think, instead of T-48), and maybe bumping us up in the queue for J points upgrade for the return flight.

Would appreciate others' knowledge here, many thanks!

The key thing is to check online to make sure the points post and if they don't that's the time to contact Velocity.
If everything correctly posts it will automatically upgrade and sent you an confirmation email. You can always show the confirmation to the check-in staff ... That's what happened in our previous experience and had no drama.

My husband went from red to gold in one trip, he was regularly getting emails as his status changed so keep an eye on your account and emails.

My 16 sectors with Delta have all credited after about 3 days, except for LAX-JFK which is still outstanding after 27 days. The difference? Booked via VA whereas everthing else booked with Delta direct. Now it does seem strange that a flight booked with VA takes the longest to credit (probably will require a retro claim) but that's the way it goes I guess. EY metal also typically takes 28 days + credit.

On my recent EY trip points were credited after 3 days. Though one sector (AUH-PER) I had to retro claim which was bizarre as I was flying LHR to PER via AUH.
To me the only thing consistent about points crediting is the inconsistency ;-)

I do a East Coast Oz to East Coast US trip pretty regularly, often on a DL flight number on VA metal. I usually find the DL flights post quickly, and often the first flights (SYD-LAX) are credited by the time I step off the plane in BOS.
