Booked 2 nights in Sofitel in Melbourne for October
Accor Plus sale rep calls me 1 month later
After 10 calls I ask for a better deal, extremely persistent sale rep
Manager comes onto the call and offers me silver status & 13 month membership
Check the website and see silver status is default
Ask for more and 3 calls later sales rep is rude and disconnects

Seems like its only one extra month, nothing extra special. I dont like calling their booking line, esp if I am uncertain and just want to ask a few questions as they are so persistent and want me to book then.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I was accor plus from Australia for 2yrs, made it to platinum and the perks were great.
Didn't renew via Australia again, joined via another country for nearly half the price with all the same perks as Australia.

My Accor Plus experience?

Got plat with Accor Plus via Amex plat charge (previously Gold with Le Club). Amex ended that association last year, so I knew at the end of last year I'd go back to either Plat or Gold with Le Club at the end of the year.

Then ... nothing happened ... everything continued on as before, including logging on etc and I had 2 stays overseas early this year (booked last year) as a Accor Plus Plat.

About May, just after those stays the system appeared to catch up and I couldn't log on. I called them up, pointing what I thought the problem was and they agreed, and immediately put me back to Le Club (ie while I was on the call). This was as expected, but they did it so quick that I didn't get to the part where I said that the points for those stays hadn't credited. When I did, they said "sorry, you are now with Le Club, and we can't help you." I had to call Le Club who of course said I was Accor Plus for the stays, so they wouldn't help either. Went back to Accor Plus and basically told tough luck.

I now use Hilton a my preferred chain.

^care to share a few more details on above?

You might need an overseas address. A friend signed up via Accor Indonesia (he has family there so it was fine). Not sure if he still gets 2 free nights (as opposed to the standard 1 in Australia)

Yes similar to the above but these guys said they would post it out to me in Sydney.
Currently waiting for the card to arrive... Will post more once the card arrives

Shaking my head reading your post- exactly the same thing happened to me- hence joined up via overseas office (PM me if you want help). The australian call centre is horrid- avoid at all costs

my card arrived but the overseas office someone stuffed up my account.
Now they are saying as I was a accor+ member previously with the same email address via the AU guys I need to sign up for a new accor hotels account & none of my points can be transferred.

they now won't return my emails either, not very happy

"13 Months" is also the new standard ... just like Silver. By the time all the fiddling is over and wasted you might as well consider it 12 months.
