Had a call from the advantage plus sales team this morning to ask if I would be interested in joining. Before I could get a word in he was rattling off all the benefits and how it will do wonderful things for me, my wife, my work life and will more than likely put an end to hunger in the third world etc etc.
When I got the chance, I explained that I'm already signed up, paid the fees, and Gold..
On hearing this he no less than called me a liar and started ranting on, but at no point could he confirm:
-my membership number
-my address
-where I had stayed recently
I hung up and called the Accor Advantage 1300 number and asked about what had just happened and I was told that it was their sales team and that I had two membership numbers registered and this must have caused confusion, she made a note on my account and all sorted.
20 minutes later, call received from a private number, it's the same douchecanoe from before; yelling at me for going above his head, and having him marked down as a con artist with anger issues... Well, I didn't put it quite like that, but he did a good job of cementing that image.
So sorry Accor, not even my love for the Sofitel in Brisbane (or Melbourne), can save this..
