Maybe not the news that will set the world alight... but we have made additional changes on the Velocity website to address some of the usability issues:

On the Velocity Home Page, we've added a My Bookings (lefthand side of the page)
  • Previously, members needed to access My Bookings after logging into their Velocity Account, requiring members to have to login a second time
  • Members can now click on the My Bookings tile and are redirected to Manage Bookings on the Virgin Australia website, requiring members to only have to login once.

Also, we've changed the wording on the Search Panel (both Velocity and VA Websites) from Use Points + Pay to Use Points/Points + Pay
  • Feedback from customers showed that there was confusion with the wording Use Points + Pay when wanting to redeem with 100% Points

Some of the mystery here might be down to some caching issues, I don't have a visible 'My Bookings' button on the front page, but a blank space under 'Update my details' is a link that works as described...

Thanks for pointing this out VFF, it's good to know there seems to be some progress on these little annoyances!

I got this too

A hard refresh fixed the problem though...

Wikipedia:Bypass your cache - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's a fix........unless you then want to do anything else with your account, in which case you need to login again.

Wow... A redirect button has been added

I don't mean to be rude but that not really a big change... the real issue is that the velocity site is very seperate from the virgin site and the current integration is poor.

What would be more interesting is information about whether VA is planning to merge the sites. Now I completely understand that this will take quite some time, but knowing if its in the plan would be good.

In the meantime, I do have one suggestion about links that may help people access features more easily.

I would like to see added to the VA homepage extra shortcuts links in the top bar (i.e. the bar that currently shows quick links for join velocity, search, contact us). I would like to see extra links for checkin, manage booking, best fares, velocity login etc - similar to the quick link bar on the travel.virginaustralia.com website.

Hrm.. I hate to be all negative-wordsy about this, but for 2+ months after the initial migration, getting a tab on the Velocity site that links to the exact same page as Manage > Retrieve with Velocity Number on the Virgin Australia site does isn't exactly what I'd call amazing. :-|

When you get the Velocity and Sabre systems talking to each other properly, I promise I'll be much more impressed.

Tried this, didnt work.

Cleared cache, tried again, still have to log in again. Will try again tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I still can't access My Bookings at all using my velocity number from any of the links, even after emailing a couple of times over the past few weeks. I even have trouble with some of my booking numbers, and had to call to confirm that I still had a booking on some of my upcoming flights because according to the website, that booking reference didn't exist!

I keep getting:
"Cannot Retrieve Booking

Our system cannot retrieve your booking. Please check that the information you have entered in correct. #00354"

Glad I am not the only one that is thinking after 3 months, the addition of a big button is not that exciting :p

When were the bookings made? pre or post 13JAN ? bookings that were made pre 13JAN are unable to be serviced online. If your bookings were made after this, may be send a PM to the Velocity rep ?

I have been getting the big #00354 as well, for all valid bookings with VA since the Sabre switchover, none of my post Sabre bookings have ever been found on the VA or the Velocity web site for me. I haven't done a "deep clean" of my cache yet - but seeing as I haven't been able to look at any of my post Sabre bookings on 3 different computers, I am just assuming its still broken for me at least.

I have two flights that were booked before and four that were booked after the changeover. The specific one which can't seem to be accessed through velocity number OR booking reference was booked on about 21st January. But the biggest problem is that the system seems to think that my velocity number doesn't exist for the "my bookings" page, although I can access my account on the Velocity page.

I've emailed the gold email address and they confirmed that the specific booking did exist, and just said that they've been having problems with the website (really??) without any mention of whether I would be able to access anything online anymore. I'll take your suggestion and PM the rep.

Exactly my problem as well - as far as Velocity goes - I exist, I can log on and my previous flights are finally crediting correctly, when I call Velocity and Virgin - they can find my velocity account and also find and change my flights by PNR or by Velocity number without a problem at all, its just the Manage my bookings function that cannot accept the fact that my bookings and my velocity number do exist, even though they are linked, ticketed and invoiced!
