Am I correct in that ABC iView is not accessible from overseas? Can't seem to get 4Corners to load.

If so, does anyone know of a work-around?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I think an I T guru would have to make your access appear to be from Australia rather than where you may really be.
Naturally we have not been able to do that as we are deficient in technology.

Bloody ridiculous, isn't it? An Aussie overseas wants to watch 'Your ABC' and can't! Gaaah!

Thanks, peeps.

Normally I don't give a stuff about TV - never watch it at home. But as someone who allegedly has prostate cancer, I was interested in watching the latest 4Corners - although it will only tell me what I already know.

Download "VPN One Click". Very easy to use. They also have an app if you're on a mobile device. Free trial for the first month as well.

There is licensed content on abc iview that the ABC is only allowed to distribute in Australia. If you want to have a rant, target the international system that allows this to happen.

As for the solution, there are various services that will make you appear to be in Australia. Some have even been mentioned in thread.

Got it working fine direct from the ABC. Don't know what the problem was getting it to load in the LA lounge; I would have thought their bandwidth would be reasonable.

Interesting, but as expected it didn't tell me anything much that I didn't already know.

I certainly didn't expect any third party licensed content to be relayed by the ABC, but I did expect their own stuff to be readily available - which it is now evident that it is I am pleased to say.

I think the issue you had was more with iView which is geoblocked by default. For that you'll need a VPN, which are very readily available. Just get one, either free or small cost.:)

program itself had nothing of interest on prostate that was new or meaningful.

I accessed on my iPad through the link in your previous post. It seemed to be straight from the ABC - or is that not the case?

Yes it was a direct link, not iView. I was just commenting on what I thought your original post was about trying to access iView...

You've lost me but I am a bit fuzzy after a bit of recent travel ;):). Will pursue it with you after I get home in late Oct.

Still can't get my head around why the ABC would want to geoblock their own content. Surely the idea of iView is to make content available to people not able to tune in at the conventional time on their TV?

"Hide My cough" is another good one. I switched from to that from Witopia. As an expat, i find i can get my current affairs fix with 60 minutes on ninemsn without VPN, but have to use VPN to watch iview. I have not tried any channel 7 or ten shows...

Have you tried Periscope? I used it recently to live stream some US shows.

ABC geoblock iView which contains both ABC content and licensed content. They don't block their direct links. Therefore iView doesn't work overseas, in normal circumstances, but the direct link provided up thread does work.
