Hi all, I apologise in advance if this is covered somewhere already, but where can I calculate the status credits earnt for AA flights?

I've read alot about the status earn rate in the USA being much better than that here in Australia and have also noted that some status runs are less than US$1000. Which site are these booked on as AA.com appears to return results of more than US$2000 for First class flights

Thanks :)

There is no calculator, it's based on the standard miles earning rate for QF, so check out the QF status calculator and then also the earning for each booking class.

You can use Mileage Monkey as well if you know your route, which will help. Just do a search here on 'instant upgrade' and 'mileage monkey'

Thanks Drewbles

Any info on my second question?

The status earn rate is the same, however the US gives you opportunities to earn SC's at a fairly cheap rate.

Search on here for instant upgrade fares as there is a wealth of knowledge on here regarding the topic.

is this on aa.com?

I still can't see anywhere an 'instant upgrade column. Just economy, business and first (with unrestricted or restricted conditions) i.e 6 options to choose from for booking

It varies with route.

Often the cheaper premium fares book into First or Business "Special" or "Restricted".

The cost varies significantly with origin/destination. e.g LAX to NYC is generally over $1000 one-way, but, for example, LAX-//-NYC-//-SJU can cost around $500 - fly further, pay less ...

Try doing a search here for 'KUPP' 'YUPP' and 'Instant Upgrade' and you'll find plenty of info:)
