What a stupid article. Yes he was pooched by tiger, but what a stupid way of getting to the end point.

I read it and came to the end bit ... and thought: "What the?".

Questions:

  • The writer reported the missing stroller before leaving the airport in the first place - did they not receive any paperwork at that time?
  • Did the writer not research the Tiger website (Welcome To Tiger Airways) which clearly states the following:
    Domestic Australian Flights
... If your claim relates to the delay of checked baggage, you must notify us in writing within twenty-one days of arrival. All claims for damaged or delayed baggage are to be addressed to:

    Tiger Airways Baggage Claims
    Charles Taylor Aviation
    PO Box 906, Terrigal
    New South Wales 2260,
    Australia
  • Was the writer deliberately led astray by staff at the Airport?

I skimmed it. Seems like he's making that accusation. Time for ACA to do a hidden camera report I think. TT can't do it seeing as their channel has Airways.

Tiger apparently record their calls. The author of this quote should request that TT review this. TT use these recorded calls against customers (yes I watch too much Airways:oops:), so why shouldn't a customer be able to use these recorded calls against TT if they gave out incorrect info.

Good luck with trying to get them to hand over the recording though. Does the freedom of information act cover businesses?

Boring. It got sorted out, thankfully, so the dogs can go back home to sleep and the carpet bombers can go back to base.

Has this just been added to the article? I don't recall seeing it before:

Tiger responds:
In Tony Wilson’s case there was a procedural error as he should have been given a claim form on the day his pram went missing, not at a later date. Given in this instance it was a genuine error on our part, we have contacted Tony directly to apologise again and have offered to compensate him for his missing pram.

Pretty Sure that has been added ,,

Prob after TT read the article !!

Certainly was added; although last night the relevant twitter log had an indication of resolution, just no detail.

Hmmm ... I wonder if "Annika" still has a role with TT ....

At least they do care slightly about their reputation.

I am subscribed to the SMH Traveller weekly email newsletter. The subejct line of the email newsletter on 16/09 was "A sting in the tail with $49 Tiger flight". There were other articles in the newsletter as well. I am guessing that the email went to over 100,000 people so I believe that Tiger would have suffered quite a bit from it.

On another more funny note, the subject of the previous email was "I was mauled by a lion". This video is well worth watching: I was mauled by a lion: travel writer attacked

I think it was entertainingly written and made some valid points about LCCs.
