Hello. I feel very privileged to have been invited to join this frequent flyer community. My 7 day flying finished yesterday morning following a total of around 97 flying hours .I feel pretty good and not much different to what you feel like off a usual long haul flight.

Thank you all for the comments of support. I must say that Virgin Blue crews were terrific and really got behind the cause making annoucements and providing encouragement.

I read many of your comments with interest and I certainly agree with the comment that this wasn't "an amazing feat of human endurance" as the Herald incorrectly quoted me as saying. I was quite embarrassed when I read that article. My comment to them was that these days you need to do something unique or an amazing feat of human endurance to attract sponsorship. They left out the first bit which changed the point I was making.

Thanks again, I look forward to being part of this community and working my way around the site.

Wellcome to AFF!

I am sure you will find this a great online community, I have a cousin that has CF, I would gladly do 2 weeks for him, just as soon as QF offer up F tickets with J connections on SC earning tickets! (Tongue in cheek intended)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Welcome to AFF; and thanks for your running commentary on Twitter.

Seems like you have done a bit of flying with your Qantas Life time Gold status.

I hope you have recovered after hitting your head on the hand dryer.

Yes, the Perth hand dryer incident nearly derailed my challenge. I leant over to pick up some aftershave I dropped and smashed my head on the bottom of the hand dryer. There was blood every where and only 40 minutes before boarding on my red eye to Bne . Luckily I could stop the bleeding with a pair of red underpants and not look too horrific for other passengers. The Virgin Blue crew gave me a sick bag with ice in it and that helped as well!

Fortunately, Virgin Blue have started the process of setting up a Perth Lounge which will be a saviour from an otherwise very ordinary terminal.

Thanks again.

Welcome to AFF Matthias Fuchias. :D And kudos to you for your commitment to such a wonderful cause. :)

Well done on your great achievement. Let's hope that something good eventuates from your efforts.
