Booked ticket to LAX last Monday picked seats etc.
Thought nothing more of it.
Have just now ,Saturday, received the confirming email
Is there a rhyme or reason for such a delay ?
It was a public holiday, Easter Monday
It was booked with a GV

I presume the flight is at least a reasonable time into the future?

Some online bookings seem to "ticket" automatically without human intervention; others not so and apparently thee are prioritised. One of the criteria is how long until the first flight.

Ok thanks ......it is June.. about 8 weeks ago. Just havnt had one take that long before
I book anything from 10 months out descending

Gift Voucher bookings sometimes seem to require manual intervention. I rang QF after waiting a few days for an on-line GV booking to SFO via LAX to be ticketed. The agent said that the booking was in a queue to be reviewed and fixed it there and then.

Booked QF/EK FF ticket , MAD - BNE 12 days ago. Took 4 phone calls to QF platinum line to finally get ticket issued. First they said, “soon”, then “tomorrow”, then “oh not our fault CC was declined by EK but we’ll fix it”. Finally a consultant who said “oh yes, EK have nothing to do with the CC. We acknowledge the issue and tickets will be issued in the next 5 minutes.” Finally done.

I had a similar situation. Booked a return flight MEL-SFO in J off a GV. Could see everything in MMB but no e-ticket or charge to my CC.

After about 10 days I contacted QF through the chatbot and it was resolved in under 10 minutes.

5 days to ticket, for one of my bookings that sounds like bliss, I have been waiting 8 weeks. Revenue J fare MEL-SYD-PVG-HRB then NRT-MEL. QF advised issue is with MU and nothing seems to move forward. Odd thing is that the x2 J rewards bookings made on the same route ticketed on the day they were booked.

I’ve booked QF tickets way in advance (so PNR is generated but the booking wasn’t actually ticketed with an e-ticket number until some months later

Never an issue. I just ring up and quote the PNR and the airline either e-ticket not ticketed yet or say no problem it shall be done

I can confirm if manual intervention is needed it can take a long time and closer flights are prioritised (which is sensible). I booked two j awards from the states a few years ago and needed to then change them to add the domestic sectors. It took 7 months and multiple phone calls to get reticketed. I finally played the honeymoon card (they were for Ms FM and her husband’s honeymoon), which won me the sympathy of the phone agent - she promised to get them ticketed straight away and she did.

They probably would have been ticketed nearer the time (there was still 4 months to go), but I couldn’t relax until I knew all was OK.

Yes QF have assured me to not worry and that it will always be ticketed.

But unless/until I see an eticket number I do get slightly nervous
