It's a big shift away from Asia in the last ten years.

In 2013 six races (Japan, Singapore, China, Malaysia, India, South Korea)
2022 just two (Japan and Singapore).

(I'm excluding Baku which kind of straddles Europe and Asia)

And I suspect Vietnam (Hanoi) which was due to host in 2020 is kaput (the main local proponent is facing corruption charges).

China will probably come back in 2023, but the lack of a 2022 race is probably good for Piastri compared to Zhou in the choice for the last Alfa seat.

And finally appears that Malaysia's Petronas will be dropping sponsorship of the Mercedes team, being replaced by a Saudi oil company.

Definitely disappointing re Vietnam. Would've been an ideal destination race for Aussie fans, and the track layout looked excellent.

What's most disappointing about the reduction in Asian races is the time zone issues - they were certainly convenient!

Ol'Bernie killed off Korea far too quickly (by not being prepared to renegotiate to retain), and likewise Sepang. Can't blame the Koreans and Malaysian governments for saying 'thanks, but no thanks" given the losses associated with F1. Am surprised Melbourne continues really - I guess they put it down as marketing costs.

That would pretty much be the cut-throat nature of F1.

Let’s hope Piastri can get a seat soon. But still gotta back Dan to come good - it’s still in there, he just needs to find it consistently.

Dan's paid considerably more than Lando.
He needs to deliver in 22 or Lando will get a contract bump and likely become the #1 driver to stop him going elsewhere.
 
Still some (media driven?) Doubt about Hamilton for 2022 season. Does anyone think Hamilton waiting for outcome of review? Or what is he waiting for? Not that Hamilton will be awarded championship, maybe he just wants clarity of rules and evidence of FIA "apology". There is also potential fine for not attending 2021 Gala

If he walks he risks looking like a sore loser, as well as leaving open further criticism of “had the best car by a country mile” who cut and run when the competition caught up.

Suspect Masi will get sidelined in some way, enough to placate Lewis and Toto. That’s the nature of F1.

There have been a number of suggestions that Mercedes ( and HAM ) agreed not to pursue the court challenge as long as Massi was removed. Indeed does his disappearance from the new FIA organisation chart add to this conspiracy theory ?

That has increased speculation although restructure was previously announced (before season end).

Still, writing appears on the wall for Masi in some shape or form. Pretty awful to have speculation on your job played out globally in the press.

As much as this will take away from the spectacle, it is the right thing to do. If Masi had the proposed new measures in place for Abu Dhabi last year, a different decision would probably have been made.

When much of the criticism last year was for inconsistent stewards decisions (caused by having a rotating roster of stewards) seems silly.
