Dear AFFers

As 2017 draws to a close and after reading a number of reports on which airline has the best First/Business/Premium/Economy experience I have been inspired to start a series of polls for our own community. Given our shared love of travel, I'm sure that we are well positioned to give expert opinions.

So just for fun, I'm asking AFFers to vote on their favourite experience in 2017 in the category stated.

Hopefully we can all enjoy this and it might even become a yearly thing.

Enjoy

PS, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families!!!

This year I only travelled 3 airlines in Business Class, and two* of them aren't listed. That unfortunately means my 737 experience on Qantas wins... if I can vote on who I think deserves it I'll do that instead, but if it has to be based off my personal experience, it's not looking good! :p

*British Airways (wouldn't have chosen them), Finnair (would have chosen them)

My best business class experience for the year (EVA Air) also missing from the list, so won't be voting.

To be fair I guess, from Australia they only serve BNE.

I did not vote as I am torn 50 / 50. QF for hard product - for sleeping. But Asiana for food.

The best that I flew on this year was the CX A350, but the sample size is small and the main competition was BA.

It's an interesting question but for relevancy the responder should note how many products were sampled.
This year I have flow a lonely one long haul J flight , other years have been different, so I will not respond.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

@ Moderators - Can you please add Qatar Airlines to the selection options (as I don't know how to do this).

Thanks

If I do I may need to reset the poll... but the question is, is the criteria to be on the list that the airline actually services Australia? So for example, British Airways should also be added, but Finnair should not? Because I can update the poll with just Qatar, but that doesn't cover all airlines that service Australia. There could be calls for another airline next week.

Another who would vote for QR if it was there. Turkish and Finnair not far behind.

So for example, British Airways should also be added, but Finnair should not?

Fair enough, but Finnair does target Australia with fares which use Qantas as the first sector to/from Asia. LH does similar.

I think adding Qatar, Finnair, LAN, Fiji, Lufthansa, Delta, Turkish and Austrian would cover most of AFF member's experiences :)

The poll could end up being very large if I added every possible airline though. Perhaps not this year, but I'm sure in previous years an AFF member might have flown Air Koryo and want to rate the service (hah) as the best. As this is not my poll, I don't want to start chopping and changing things without first getting clarification on if this poll is to do with airlines that service Australia, of which Lufthansa would not be included, or if airlines in general?

Fair call. Can I suggest leave it be and see how it goes.

There is always 2018 :)

I think I've only flown TG in business this year. QF still has the best business class product from last year. Can I vote?

I won’t vote as I only flew J on AY from HKG-HEL-MAN in 2018, connecting from SYD in Y.

The A350 J seat is a great hard product, but the HKG based crew have a lot of catching up to do to make it a leading J class experience.

J on the E190 (intra-Europe) is a con unless you are chasing status credits. The service is better with HEL based crew but the seat is the same as economy and no shadow.
