With the first of the tour matches under way in Perth, and the first test match starting in Brisbane on the 23rd of November, the usual banter has started, though I haven't heard Glen Mcgraths' usual 5-0 prediction this year yet. ( and he was correct for the last series played here).
I'm predicting 2-2. Any other thoughts?

4-0 I reckon. For England, Cook, Root, Bairstow and Ali are world class, but they have too limited an attack. Anderson and Broad basically need the conditions to be in their favour, which they won't be except possibly during brief periods in Adelaide. I envisage several Australian totals above 500.

Australia relies on 2 batters (Warner and Smith) making runs to reach 400 plus innings totals. If either of these 2 fail, Australia usually struggles to make 300 plus.

Last two matches at home (facing a better bowling attack than England will have) they made 624/8d and 538/8d & 241/2d.

It will be an interesting contest but I think the Poms will struggle.

We have a strong bowling attack but our batting middle order can fold like a deck of cards. Stokes will make a difference if selected.

Australia 3-1.

Interesting that they open up on Date, particularly being a Sat.
SCG is Day 4/5 for Club cards/ guests only.

Am awaiting the results of the Ballot for reserved seats at the SCG for Days 1-3.
$25/seat to not have to line up at 4am is good value in my books

I’ll be in Adelaide for the full 5 days but hope we only need three and wipe them out :) no special place just slumming it in the members

Ok. Perfect storm will be great weather and all 27,000 members want to go plus another few associates. And not that many seats to go around.

But I’ll be watching the cricket not like a lot of members who will be out the back for the full 5 days :D

I'll be 3 days in Brisbane, 2 in Adelaide, 3 in Perth, 2 in Melbourne and 3 in Sydney. Then following from late February there are 3 days in each of Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Jo'burg. Hilton are making a fortune out of me! Life is tough but someone has to do it. As an aside, the total cost of the 12 best seats I can get in South Africa for the 4 Tests is less than one single day at the MCG. Really looking forward to the next few months.

Tragic :) We are getting tickets for Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test thanks to a contact. MrP is an Adelaide Oval member so that's taken care of.

I'll be in Adelaide for the last 4 days. Have tickets for Day 2, 3 and will probably do a walk up after that.

First time ever in Adelaide, somehow have just never got there!!

They reserve Days 1 & 2 for Members as a lot of the old members aren’t very conversant with anything other than the telephone and telex, so might otherwise miss out on securing tickets. Some still pay by Cheque

My father went to the QCC on the morning tickets opened and organized his and my uncles tickets and our against-the-glass (front row) lunch table. He advised them I’d be organising my tickets same day, so he rang me when he got back to his car and I emailed in my booking form and CC details (had it saved ready to go), advising that I wanted to be seated with him. I got an email within 30 mins confirming everything (and the confirmation of my CC debit)

In most people’s books. No doubt because of the vast number of members with capped number of seats. My dad and uncle go to the SYD Test - they’d have paid up as well

Is trust membership ship still a good deal at the Gabba ?
Both bro/in laws are/were members, maybe I should check.
We had wonderful seats for aeons as lions members , but ( along with many others) we eventually gave up.
We even had season seats at the Morrison…..memories….
