Many people, including myself, in that thread are having significant difficulties in getting Woolworths Insurance to pay out the 20,000 bonus points. That is, Woolworths Insurance has breached the terms of their offer. You should be aware of this and prepared to fight for the points should you take up this current offer.

I had a brief fiddle around but pretty quickly determined that I couldn’t get a policy cheap enough to be bothered. Maybe more playing around might have found something cheaper but best I could do was around $26 per month.

I just did a run through on one of my parent’s older cars and got under $22 p.c.m, payable monthly in advance. Might put one monthly payment through on one car on a throw away post office Visa card and see how that goes. Cancel after the 3 week cooling off period. Interesting that they validate the registration number- you can’t just make one up.

Tried to use a visa only 1 previously and it failed.

Valid point, lot of those visa gift cards won’t accept charges involving recurring payments. Pondered. Just had a thought, could add a virtual card on my Velocity global wallet account, run a payment through that, then lock or cancel that card. These Woolworths points gigs only work if payments are kept to bare minimum.

I’m probably missing something obvious but why do you want to use a gift card instead of a regular credit card? What’s the difference if you’re going to cancel (thereby not authorising any further charges) after the cooling off period anyway?
