If staying 4 nights in a single stay can you use 2 certificates. The fine print isn't obvious. Although there doesn't seem a way to book this apart from 2 consecutive bookings.

Thanks Markis. Yes I do. Will they accept both and make an adjustment at check-in. As when booking it doesn't allow you to specify more than 1 certificate for the reservation. Both expire next week. Would be a shame to waste them.

Book two separate stays of 2 nights each. Then explain the consecutive bookings at check-in. I do this all the time. It works but regardless of what they say at check-in time, you'll probably have to have new keys (or a re-code) for the last 2 nights.

Not sure why you do that, using the PP portal a 4 night stay is easily booked, and no booking is referenced back to any cert ? Don't forget ebates and mrrebates works with these.

Booking a 4 night PP stay only (by default) gives one night as $0. So it becomes a "stay 4 nights with 1 night free". But maybe the hotel refunds 1 night? The 2 x 2 nights seems to work out cheaper when I've booked.

I just looked at Auckland CP 12-16 May (4 nights) on the PP 2 Nights for Price of 1 rate:

Book May 12-16: Total NZD 795.00 (May 12,13,14 = NZD 265.00/night, 15= NZD 0)
If they take away one night: Total NZD 530.00
-or-
Book May 12-14: Total NZD 265.00 (May 12 = NZD 265.00, 13 = NZD 0)
Book May 14-16: Total NZD 219.00 (May 14 = NZD 219.00, 15 = NZD 0)
Together Total NZD 484.00

So a bit of savings for the 2 x 2 booking option.

But I guess it could vary!

So unless the hotel does a nice adjustment on the 4 night PP stay... well I'll be looking at the 2x2 nights. (and I do)

Thats odd, as you can see by my screenshot, thats not the case in my example, booking the 2 x 2 does make sense if there is a rate variance between nights in some cases. Looks like the CP have coded it wrong, a search on Auckland does show the CP as only 1 free night while the HI is two.

Well, try it yourself!

I did and as per my post one property of the two in AKL is only showing a single free night, its not something I have seen before elsewhere.

I've seen it before! Anyway, it's always worth a comparison with the 2 x 2 due to rate changes.

If you get any more please post them and let IHG/PP know, as its an error.

Sure! Maybe I saw it when I actually booked the CP Auckland? I can't remember, but I have used 2 x 2 certs there some time ago. It certainly put me off booking 4 nights on the rate!

Looks like CP Norwest does the same and perhaps others. I know I've seen it a few times.

Regardless, it's always worth checking if it's better to do a 2 x 2 night booking.

I recently booked three ( 3 ) nights at Melbourne IC, via the PP website using a PP BOGO ...

I 'played around' with the booking engine, trying all combinations ...

I found different rates each time. I was looking at Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday nights in October.

Monday & Tuesday came up at $275. each night, and then Wednesday night was the 'free' one.

If I looked at the Wednesday alone, it was something like $330. ( 10% off for PP ).

Overall, my 'average' rate = $186. a night ( considering an RA upgrade & privileges, I hope ... ).
