1K on the 777?

I'm flying MEL-LAX next week, and got my upgrade to J (sweet!)

I went to grab my seat on the app, and it shows that 1K is available.

Seatguru doesn't show a 1K. The VA seat chart doesn't label the seats precisely, but it doesn't appear to show a 1K seat either. And the app has one extra seat on the RH side, compared to the VA seat chart.

What gives? Is this a ghost seat? I'm afraid to select it, but I'd rather be up front in a window if it is real.

Definitely a ghost seat. 1K doesn't appear on the VA website so not sure why the app is magically showing it.

Thanks. The website wouldn't let me view the seat map, so the app was my only choice.

Does the app even lets you select it?

Select it then see if the app will confirm it... Then a call to Virgin to hear the reaction...

Should make for an interesting call. Something tells me that if you select it in the app, it will drop from the booking very quickly as the system realises no seat exists.

The app needs a little tweaking for seat maps etc, I've noticed a few little issues with it.

But equally it solves a lot of problems where one couldn't select a seat on the website, but can via the app. So overall it's a very valuable tool and useful.
