Flying back from Europe in Aug 2023 for 2 Pax
Have enough for 2 x Business Class but about 238000 short for 2 x first class.

I will be book these tomorrow and was after any suggestions how to get the 238000 shortfall of points? If it is possible at all.

Have never flown first class with Singapore Airlines and wondering if it is worth it?

Do you have any points with Velocity?

F is good, but J is much better than Y! Before you get too concerned about the points shortfall, can you even get F on the route you are looking at?

I have 37000 and 120000 of flybuys that I never got around to transferring. Might check out how quick it would be for the transfers to happen.

Other thought is to go first class the longer flight FRA to SIN then BC SIN to SYD.

Mixed class tickets will price at highest cabin.

What about if I booked seperate bookings Frank to Sing then a seperate booking SIn to SYD would this work?

Will work, but priced as two separate tickets, not one. Back to my original point, have you seen the F availability you’re looking for? Separate tickets might even have better availability, but no use stressing if F is not realesed.

there is availability.

We have decided to just go BC the whole way and to not worry about first class.

We are grateful to just get BC seats.

If you’re really keen, you could book F to Singapore and then pay for a Jetstar flight from Singapore to AU. But that comes at a cost and extra time/night in Singapore.

My partner made the end decision - BC all the way. Rather than mess about Another day for F class

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'd agree with the above - in a situation such as this with such a large shortfall of points, just book what you can get (you're lucky to get J at this point as all SQ flights are running at close to 100% capacity in all classes).
Later on when you get some more points in your SQ bank then you can have a go at redeeming for F or R. Just the way things are at the moment.

I would add that if the F leaving SIN in late evening/ early morning to Europe that you largely do not get the full benefit as 1/ you are very tired and 2/ it really becomes a sleep/breakfast flight.

Much better is if you can get the F flight as a day flight where you can maximise the enjoyment by 1/ not being tired and 2/it being day flight so that one can eat, drink and make merry and enjoy the F service in full.

I also try where possible (some destinations do not have suitable flights) to do this with my J Flights
