Hi
I have a booking on hold with Singapore Airlines x 4 Pax

ADL- PPT via stop over in AKL (8days)
Then return
PPT to MEL via AKL ( 2hrs no stop over )

Krisflyer are telling me i cant use the $100 stopover rule and it needs to be booked as 2 seperate bookings
ADL-AKL-MEL and AKL -PPT-AKL

Is this correct ?

Cheers

If this is a regular Star Alliance booking then I don't see any problem with the itinerary. You're allowed one free stopover (which you've used outbound in AKL) and one open jaw (which you use at the origin, flying out of ADL and returning to MEL). The only restriction with the stopover is that it can't be in the same country that the travel originates (i.e. Australia).

What airlines are you using for each sector?

Kris redemption flying on airnz

If all flights are on NZ then it seems like an allowable routing to me.

I can only suggest using the HUACA method. If the next agent you speak to still doesn't allow it, I would be asking them which specific part of the KrisFlyer T&Cs disallow your routing.

The SQ *A award chart has a note:
The mileage required for one-way Star Alliance awards that includes at least one stopover will be calculated based on each flight sector in the itinerary.

So should be able to have the stopover, but it will mean the flights will be one-way awards.

But the above example is a return Star Alliance award, not one-way.

Isn't the $100 stopover rule only applicable for flights on SQ metal only?

Yes but the fine print I posted states that it will be priced as two one-ways and not as a return award, which is also what SQ have told him though they would appear to be wrong on the stopover.
