I recently purchased a QF ticket SYD-HKG-BOM(stop)-SIN-SYD

4 sectors in total. I just noticed at the bottom of the e-ticket that it states the credit card service fee was $100.60.

Fare 1168.00
fees+ 281.26
C/card serv fee 100.60
Total 1549.86

I am sure as I was purchasing the ticket online it said a $25 per ticket c/card fee would be $25.

TO be honest, I think that the final price on the ticket (including the credit card fee) was the same as I had been quoted onscreen, so I am bit confused by it all.

Does anybody follow it? If it is true, then $100 on a $1450 seems pretty steep.

It does sound steep regardless of the card used although in saying that sometimes I do not bother looking at the breakdown of the airfare as it really does not make much sense.

As an aside have you gone back to try and make another booking and take it to the final step where you select the credit card (but do not purchase) to see what is actually is added on?

Was there a Cathay Pacific flight or two in there? Their fuel surcharges often get called credit card fee by Qantas.

Today we paid a $7.00 fee on Amex for a QF fare that totalled $1473.69 including the credit card fee for Australian flights.
I dont see how the CC fee should be so different for the detail posted.

What a rip off?! And people complain about Tiger?!

I think oz_mark's explanation re some CX fees being shown under Credit Card fees is correct, even if illogical.
The Qantas site shows a credit card fee of AUD25 per International booking.
Therefore it is likely the $100.60 includes other charges, or is incorrect.
If incorrect a refund should be sought from Qantas.
Its does not appear to be a rip off, a la Tiger.

most probably a mix up with YQ(usually fuel surcharge) and YR(usually credit card fee) in the fare breakdown, will be fuel surcharges

Spoke to Qantas (there's 20 minutes of my life I will never get back), and after much checking was told that it included the fuel surcharges for the Cathay flight HKG-BOM, and the QF codeshare (Jetair operated) BOM-SIN. Having read the replies above, I suspect that it was only the CX fuel surcharge in there.

It appears that Tiger has once again bumped up its Credit card charge to $7.20 now, was $6.60 few weeks ago.
