Any particular objection to giving infant a bit of anti-histamine before flight ? after checking with your doctor, of course.

Kris Flyer Credit Card Mileage Accumalation

Yes, I was comparing Platinum cards. My apologies for the confusion. WBC Altitude Amex earns 3 points / $ = 1.5 SQ points. I guess there is no one combination that is best but depending on individual spending pattern & FF programs one wishes to use.

Kris Flyer Credit Card Mileage Accumalation

Amex is the same as Westpac Altitude for SQ, $1 spent = 1.5 Krisflyer points. Citi Visa is $1.5 spent = 1 Krisflyer points. Btw, you only need 76500 KF points to HK most of the time. But I think Altitude points ( less airlines than Amex ) are a little better than Amex for MAS. As a consumer...

Kris Flyer Credit Card Mileage Accumalation

These credit card programs do change all the time. As far as I know, with Amex, you get the best service, best value for exchanging for points & most flexible. The other one I use is Citibank Visa ( for those merchants who discriminate against Amex ). Both can exchange for SQ points. No card...

Yes, it appears that way at the moment for saving KF miles.

Kris Flyer Credit Card Mileage Accumalation

Yes, they apparently started just a few days ago on July 1st. The exchange ratio is 1.5 : 1, so it's the better value Mastercard than WBC's Accent. But then again, Accent gives you their Amex too.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes - Online NOW!!

That's probably why I find QF points are of much less value as I mainly save points from CC spending. Thanks for clearing that up. Still, even if one saves points from buying tickets, the award seats are very limited & cost much more points than other airlines with more limitations. But I...

Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes - Online NOW!!

Thanks for that info : I was looking for any other CC that can save points for airlines other than QF. I'll look into joining Citibank. QF is not good value to me at all.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes - Online NOW!!

If these points you are talking about are FF points, perhaps you can get better value for your points. 60,000 FF points will get you a free economy class ticket to HK from Sydney ( may be less from Brisbane ). But you'll have to book months ahead. $100 for 10,000 points means they are...

Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes - Online NOW!!

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I guess nothing is black & white. :) I figured that there must be some other benefit that suits Qantas FF's target customers & obviously I am not one of them. I get most of my points through credit cards & most Visa/Master cards ( except two I know of ) can only...

Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes - Online NOW!!

Am I missing something ? How does Qantas get away with such blatant rip off & even discrimination against us when they charge us a fee to join FFlyer & not overseas members; the # of points required for tickets are generally way above other airlines; members can only book reward tickets for...

Kris Flyer Credit Card Mileage Accumalation

Hi Dave More local info for you : In Australia, Amex is great for SQ now that they have negotiated MR : SQ to 1:1. That makes QF far too expensive by points. The only 2 cards ( Visa/Master ) I know that can transfer points to SQ are Westpac Altitude & ANZ awards Visa. Both Westpac & ANZ are...

    Visa query

Re: CBA Visa Gold $114 annual fee and $15 additional card holder Thanks for the advise ! I am not keen on Qantas points as one can never get any seat within reasonable time. But it seems all Visa/Master can only save points for Qantas. Westpac Altitude saves for Virgin Blue too but that's...

    Visa query

I have been trying to find a Visa/Master card that can save the maximum fflyer points. I couldn't find any that save points to any airlines like Amex. So I am applying for CBA's Visa. Does anyone has any idea why Visa/Master do not provide points for any other fflyer programs than Qantas ?

    Positive changes to Ascent

For some reason, ANZ doesn't even post SQ as a redeemable partner online. Just rang them & they need $3 spent per SQ point, which is too expensive. Thanks anyway !

    Positive changes to Ascent

Amex points are much better value now. But for those places that don't accept Amex, there does not appear to be a Visa/Master card that can have points transferred to airlines other than Qantas ?

    True. Thanks for the reminder.

    Positive changes to Ascent

True, I have small # of points in some hotel programs which are even below minimum transfer, so they'll go to waste. I figure now I'll just join a program for each group & keep saving Amex MR until I need to transfer to which ever airline I need to travel with at the time before transferring.
