50 people injured on SYD-AKL LATAM flight LA800

Came here to see if there was any info, I'm due to fly in a couple of weeks so this is very alarming! Same flight number

Long stopover in SCL - Options

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into the hotel options, etc. I didn't know that some hotels do day rates. There's a Hilton nearby that seems pretty good too. I will also try to ring Qantas again, maybe try to see if I can get an Australian call centre...but I'm not a high tier ff so who knows.

Long stopover in SCL - Options

Hi all, a few things here so bear with me, but would appreciate your views/advice or knowledge/info you may be able to offer. I received a flight change from Qantas saying that my Latam flight LA476 departing EZE to SCL has been moved from a night departure (LA476) to 12pm (LA420), making my...

    Linking two flights

Qantas. Purchased the ticket through the Qantas website. Flights to Buenos Aires from Santiago were not Qantas (obviously as they don't fly to Argentina :().

    Linking two flights

I know it's an old post, but find it useful to provide updates (although months later). I linked my flights (QF domestic reward seats from Bne to SYD purchased separately to my purchased QF international flights from Syd) and I had no issues at all with Qantas viewing the booking as one instead...

    Multi city rewards generic error

Thanks so much for your time! Very useful information :) flights have now gone up and reward seats gone, but will keep looking with all the info I learned and see what I do. The flights with the best connections were with Latam, so something to take into account. Qantas makes it really difficult...

    Multi city rewards generic error

@MEL_Traveller (or anyone who knows) If I understand your post correctly, it's safer to book an available reward seat as opposed to multi-city as it may be "easier" to change? Or it will always be difficult to change them given all issues stated above? What if Qantas cancel the flights or change...

    Multi city rewards generic error

It's two passengers from Australia to Buenos Aires, reward seats return, flights in economy are currently 3k each way. These are the prices to South America unfortunately.

    Multi city rewards generic error

Yep, my suspicions were correct, it seems. This time I went through the pay page with no errors. If I don't tick on reward seats, true availability seems to show and you are able to search for your flights, dates and then select them. Not sure if I am still going ahead with this due to all...

    Multi city rewards generic error

You're correct; they are partners and you can earn points with them, I am stuck with both :( With Latam I came across a very similar issue to this but without points. It was latst year, and their website wouldn't let me go through with the purchase. Call centre was as useless as Qantas.

    Multi city rewards generic error

Your last sentence reflects my feelings toward Qantas ff. I've been collecting points for over 13 years. I have (apparently mistakenly) used points+pay for a family holiday to Cairns in 2021 and also to fund some flights with Jetstar. I then read time and time again that reward seats are...

    Multi city rewards generic error

Thanks for the info. At least it's not just me. I've never redeemed reward seats before, is it really painful to change them then if something goes wrong? These are months into the future but the dates are really good, and with the prices of flights want to secure them, if I can find anything...

    Multi city rewards generic error

Hi all, I hope people's knowledge here can assist please. Trying to book a multi city rewards flight, BNE SYD EZE (29/3/24) returning AEP SYD BNE (14/4 and from Syd to bne 16/4 due to time difference) both via SCL and stops in Akl. The options of rewards from Bne alone are not that great as...

    Linking two flights

Thanks @justinbrett and everyone else for your time and answers. I have flown regularly. That's where I am from, but never thought about waking up early. Although you have to be up pretty early to make it to the flight to syd. I have to say, I flew Qantas in March and Latam August last year...

    Linking two flights

Makes sense, I can still change that booking as it's within the 24hs, i hope it wont disrupt anything in my other one. The reason why i booked it at that time leaving bne was because I thought that linking the flights would protect me in case something went wrong. For my past trip in March where...

    Linking two flights

Plane arrives to syd 10.20am and leaves to scl at 12.35. On my return, it arrives to syd at 5.50pm and leaves to bne at 8.35pm. Last time, we took the 9.35pm flight to bne and the wait after such a long flight was just way too long. And yes, all qf. There's the klm and latam connections but...

    Linking two flights

:( Syd-scl-eze and back. 1684134310 But if linking the flight is not a connection, then it doesn't apply as per other users' understanding. I am confused.

    Linking two flights

Yes, have two separate bookings. I thought that linking the flights would assist if the flight was late. Bummer. I have 24hs to cancel the domestic flight but now that they are linked I won't dare touching it. Ugh. I booked with reward seats and return Syd to Bne is business, I should read what...

    Linking two flights

Hi all - I called Qantas to ask if I could link a domestic and international flight, both are with Qantas, they said yes. I booked the domestic flights and got the reference number, then called Qantas to link this with my international flight. They said they did this but I haven't received the...

Trying for classic upgrade reward on Qantas international and having problems

It is a long leg, SCL to SYD (14+ hs). The cost of points makes sense based on my status, which is tin 😂 thanks for the explanations. It's good to understand things a bit more. I did fly premium economy once and I actually didn't like it. Plus I travel with my son and the middle armrest cannot...
