    New CommBank "Smart Awards" card

Just checking you realise the 1.2 QFF points is for overseas spend only? It's .4 local spend, .8 major stores local spend (Coles etc), and 1.2 overseas spend with great rates and no forex charge. It works for us for the moment because we're making up for lost time in early retirement and...

    New CommBank "Smart Awards" card

Sorry, think I've mucked up the quoting here. Regarding the timing, on the second point - definitely transferred at the end of a statement period. On the first point, when they're credited, ours were about five working days after we qualified, which just happened to have the statement date in...

    New CommBank "Smart Awards" card

Regarding the bonus points. We opted for QF upfront as the bonus was better even with the (then) $30. A bit between a rock and a hard place, as I didn't want the bonus points to hit the QFF account until the new memership year (permanent bronze, so QC & QCP are valuable to us) but also didn't...

    New CommBank "Smart Awards" card

Sorry, I'm one of the ones who derailed the conversation with the new $4k limit Ultimate card, I searched the topic on here and this thread came up. As for paying extra to increase your credit limit, I've just done it. About to book $14k Singapore airlines flights. Tried to increase the limit...

    New CommBank "Smart Awards" card

The commbank ultimate changes will affect us, too. This was one card we were happy to keep while we're doing so much travelling, and most months we'd have no problem with $4k if it includes time we're overseas. The O/s spend and benefits are excellent, as is the travel insurance now that it...

Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account removes overseas ATM/forex fees

Thanks for the reminder about selecting 'credit', I'd forgotten! We're heading for Malaysia in six weeks so will be using Bankwest or Wise, whichever works on the day!

Qantas Lounge Pass Access Denied Almost Everywhere

@Vic, what about this bit though - these instructions are specific to our complimentary invites: (so mentions guests AND children.) (Not that it matters to me, just want to be informed.)

Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account removes overseas ATM/forex fees

No, it was the Vietnamese bank withdrawal limit per day. No limit on my account. Everyone was having the same issue with various banks and even Qantas money card (or whatever it's called) as we needed a fistful of cash.

Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account removes overseas ATM/forex fees

Interesting a @theblank, I've never had that happen over a significant number of countries, thanks for the warning. We would never go without backup anyway, even took our Westpac card as a third option. Vietnam was the place where we both needed a lot of cash AND you could only withdraw about...

Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account removes overseas ATM/forex fees

Morning all, We opened one of these in my husband's name for the monthly QFF points (which is valued at less than interest earnings, but will give us Points Club Plus, valuable since we're bronze). After it was announced that they'd dropped the FOREX fees, I got one for myself with a much...

Qantas Lounge Pass Access Denied Almost Everywhere

@RichardMEL it does seem a bit hard on teachers, who can only travel during the school holidays. The rest of us eventually get to the kid free years and get the benefit of being able to travel during school term. Are you saying that you can transfer passes to someone during school holidays...

Qantas Lounge Pass Access Denied Almost Everywhere

@AustraliaPoochie , yes, thankyou, have been following all of the Facebook FF threads and some of the stores are horrendous. Some people are still waiting on refunds from 2020. We were lucky, our Jetstar for Japan fully refunded in a few days, Finnair right on the 8 x weeks they promised...

Qantas Lounge Pass Access Denied Almost Everywhere

@Port Power thanks for the welcome! Yes, I resorted to using BC on the multiple Facebook FF groups I'm in to avoid the inevitable, 'what's J?' from those new to it all. Will remember to use J here.

Qantas Lounge Pass Access Denied Almost Everywhere

Don't have the hang of quoting here, yet. We would probably fit into the category of people using complimentary passes to our advantage. Difference between us and others is that we've only been able to start travelling extensively since we retired five years ago. Did our first couple of long...
