Two excellent reds with roast lamb and some good companies yesterday.

Nice SA reds for the weekend

Both are good wines. Brought back some Fusion V (2018) for future consumption.

Spent a week away and sampled locally made lychee rose in Mauritius, it was well made, fresh and light a tad too sweet for me. French red was enjoyable. De Toren Z, a Bordeaux styled blend from South Africa was good value, could do well with few more years in cellar.

Nice cool climate Syrah. Medium weight and well balanced.

Winding down with a glass of classic MR CS

Unwraps is a good one too. Bought some Forest Hill Block 5 CS 2014 when it was on DM clearance and a decent wine too.

Purchased a trio pack using the code.

Opened one the other night to have with a pizza. It is fruit driven with markedly herb/spice flavours and the tannin is mild. it is pleasant to drink with food whilst not overpowered. will save the rest for cooler months to pair with some asian/middle eastern food during a night in.

Indeed. For $22.50/b and a reasonably aged cab sav, well worth a try.

Some good reviews in the forum for 2010 vintage. very tempted!
