    With AirNZ they did have to wait 24 hrs and I agree it was unsatisfactory but with Singapore they could tell me straight away while I waited on the phone> Singapore is closer to Virgin than Air NZ and I guess that may explain it. I will certianly do it again!

    I had a similar experience in 2005 to compare BA Club world with QF and BA First: I agree that First is better but BA Club World - which is now being further upgraded - is terrific. You can sleep lying flat - no matter what QF and others say, angled does not equal flat.

    Virgin is an excellent scheme - with low points required, good service and availability on VA or prtners - inc SIA. In addition, the Club at JFK has a great restaurant which I visited last month while flying in SIA on a First Class award through Virgin Atlantic.
