    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

I reckon 50% of the times I got those emails I still got the upgrade, so you are not necessarily out of the running. 1709250197 Look I am a fan of Rex – but in fairness that does not necessarily mean there were a lot of people inside!

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

Rex seems to have stopped the "you've been outbid" emails. Today I went straight to: you've missed out.

Rex launches its own frequent flyer program (in October 2023)

I'm happy to have something that saves fresh entry of contact details every single booking. Any more than that is a bonus.

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

$50 worked on ZL18 up and $65 on ZL143 back today. J both ways for $317 all up was pretty handy. Empty J seats both ways so I might have been successful with $30!

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

Looks like there were system problems this week. Instead of getting the out-bid email I got this: "Booking Reference: xx_xx_ We wanted to let you know we have cancelled your upgrade offer for this flight. You will not be charged and you do not need to take any further action." I took this as...

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

I bid $35 for BNE/MEL. Got an email saying that I had been outbid, and would need to bid $125. I bid $55 on top of a $89 promo fare, and today was successful. Pretty clear to me that the indicative bids information is wrong

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

My $30 bid for todays ZL139 on top of a promo$79 fare was quickly outbid when made last weekend. Last night it said a bid of $268 was required. This morning I got a message that my $30 bid was successful. Not sure how, but hooray!

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

I think I was on this plane to SYD immediately before the problem return flight. It's not clear to me whether there was a genuine mechanical issue or whether someone was smoking in the toilet?

$60 did the trick on ZL18 today, on top of a $79 promo fare

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

QF has more capacity to back up yes in response to maintenance problems, but will cancel flights to consolidate flights for cost purposes whereas Rex just couldn't...so there are pluses and minuses. I've had one Rex flight delayed, no cancellations.

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

ZL18 on 28/2. $79 promo fare (might have been $89?) plus a $55 bid got me there. The passenger next to me bid $65. Coming back on ZL141 on 2/3, I stopped bidding at $132.

Got my Mum upgraded ADL/MEL for $54 on Saturday, and then going back today at $50. Mum's happy....first time in Business Class

    Rex BidUp Success and Failures

Tried MEL/BNE two weeks ago and was outbid at $200. I offered $50 each way on MEL/SYD (fares only cost $79 each to start with) and was outbid, but quite late so there was not as much interest as on the longer flight.

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Next week I travel MEL>ADL>SYD>MEL, which will cost $1,060 on QF and VA. In the next six months I have booked MEL>SYD x 3 and MEL>BNE x 2...total cost $1,020! Mostly Rex, some of the >BNE is VA at $89 each way. That's the difference between short notice and be able to plan ahead to take...

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

I don't want to unleash a horde of copycats (!) so I have told you in a PM. I might be exaggerating a little, might be 1 in 4 or 5 – but I definitely do better than my fair share.
