American Express Explorer: I called to cancel a few days ago. No points were offered, nor did I ask for any. They did offer to move me onto a card with a cheaper annual fee, however I declined.

From Live Chat just now:

I have x2 $400 credits expiring in March and April. I'm planning to cancel my Explorer card in April when my membership year is up as the annual fee is no longer worth it. If I just book a hotel overseas, would I be refunded in cash (assuming our borders will still be closed)?

Good point. But if they weren't planing to print new cards, I wish they didn't 'issue' them until printing recommenced. That could have given us another 6 months of validity (or at this rate, 12+ months...).

I received approval from my final country over two months ago and haven't received my card yet...

Also my bad! I just assumed, haha. Safe travels!
