Thanks Mal. HKG seems the best bet with Air NZ coming in at 500 plus taxes which is a gret deal. BA is about 100 more expensive and I would go with them but I cannot check what class the seats book into because I would just be earning 25% if it were discount economy.

I flew JetBlue between NYC (JFK) and Boston and I have to say that both flights were one of my best economy flying experiences ever. The in flight entertainment was a superb addition (direc tv satellite).

Update... So another option I just looked at was to hop a reward flight to HKG and then pick up a one way flight from there. I did look to go to Tokyo but the prices on jetabroad were out of this world.

I recently did a trip from SYD to CDG via HKG with CX. Very good flight (although full) but left HKG quite late at night 11pm. However, CX are great at connections so if you dont want to stop in HKG (I love HKG) then you can connect straight on.

I have to say I agree with you JohnK. I cannot see the justification in paying almost double the airfare for not that much extra service over and above Y. If I am looking at Y+ I might as well just keep on saving and go to Business.
