    Lounge Access Help Desk

Hi. My wife and I have Star Alliance Gold Status with Air Canada. We have a trip with Singapore Airlines next year. I added our VA frequent flyer numbers to the booking instead of Air Canada as we want to earn status and points with VA instead. Can we simply show our Air Canada gold status to...

Singapore Airlines lounges access - child

Hi, I'm a VA gold and I will be travelling BNE-SIN return on SQ with my partner and a 5 year old child. The VA website states that I'm allowed 1 guest (inclusive of children). My partner doesn't have any status. What is recent your experience of travelling with children? Are the lounge staff...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

That's not entirely true. The VFF office has been growing, but the VA office has been steady. They've been running out of space at the Virgin Village for a while now. They used to operate out of 4 buildings, now condensed into 3.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Nope. They don't own the Virgin Village. It's leased.

Is someone able to explain how moving the HQ to MEL can save the company? https://www.afr.com/street-talk/virgin-australia-mulls-interstate-move-to-help-save-company-20200416-p54kal

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

I sincerely hope that VA comes through this in some shape or form. If the government does indeed bail them out, I hope they get VA to clean out their entire management. They have a lot of bad eggs who are still making atrocious decisions.

Virgin Australia launches 'coronavirus status extension' plan

No. Three different Indian companies for various functions of IT. They've had a very small contingent of permanent employees, a handful of which have been made redundant. They also have a large force of contractors.

Virgin Australia launches 'coronavirus status extension' plan

Their IT has been heavily outsourced for a number of years and the MSPs are not affected by the stand downs and redundancies. Compared to the rest of the organisation, their IT has not let go of many.

Virgin Australia launches 'coronavirus status extension' plan

It does seem like they have botched the dates. My review date is still the same. Also, the VFF/VA app doesn't reflect the supposedly new review date.

On the mobile site, log into shop.vff.com and click on your name (profile). It will take you to your orders which has its status.

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

Just an FYI - my colleagues and I have all redeemed our points for various gift cards, including JB Hi Fi and all orders have been "Pending" for over 10 days now.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

A few colleagues and myself have cashed out our points for various gift cards. They were ordered last Friday and the order status is still "Pending". Hopefully it's just a massive backlog and they are slow to process.

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

When did you order them? I ordered mine last Friday and it's still stuck in "Pending".

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Not sure if this has been posted here before, but I came across this today https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8063825/Virgin-Australia-share-price-collapses-just-10-cents-sparking-fears-collapse.html

anyone at VA listening ? Anyone at all ?

They haven't got rid of the 750 yet. Whilst they have made quite a few people redundant, they have been hiring a plethora of contractors. A lot of their contractors have been working for many years at VA.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

The real question is VA's ability to turn around and post a profit (for the first time). How long can VA's investors be patient? The share price is at an all time low. As others have mentioned, the effect of the virus should be minimal on its domestic network. My recent BNE-LAX flight had less...
