When I was there last year, before I flew I managed to get Delta to status match my QFF Platinum which then gave me access to the Air India lounge.
To be honest, that wasn't that good, very hot being on a mezzanine level!
Too true! I flew from SYD to Austin last weekend via Phoenix, used the lounge near Gate 17 and it was indeed tiny! Reminded me of the Alaska Lounge in LAX, very similar layout. Certainly a world away from the Flagship lounges :)
I frequent the Austin Admirals lounge quite often and that is a...
Will be interesting to see what it's like. I was in Auckland week before last and instead of the Crowne Plaza I stayed at the JW Marriott as it was close to where I was at an event. Took me a while to realise the JW was the old Stamford :)
I’m in the SYD domestic business lounge waiting for a flight to CBR and have to say the Chardonnay today is really nice, one of the better lounge offerings I’ve had recently!
LOL, I might make LTS this year after 8 years of almost exclusive Qantas flying, LTG? Yeah, nah!
Downside of all my flights being in the cheap seats 😁

Seems like every economy international flight I've had in the last 12 months has been beef and polenta or beef stew or chicken salad. It really is time for a menu change there!

I enjoy being Platinum, certainly felt it one year when I temporarily dropped to gold, and I think once you have it, it's not until you drop to gold that you realise how you miss many of the little things mentioned above on top of better lounge access etc.
I'm slightly miffed that I made my...
I have a spell of Y flights at present as the company is trying to reduce costs (I don’t mind too much as a shareholder).
I did QF81/82 last week, out was fine as I had a shadow next to me, back was a killer - 4 hours delay leaving and then delays inbound for SYD, we ended up having to...
My last few international arrivals in to SYD have seen my bags come out pretty quick, and vice versa arriving in other countries, sometimes they are tagged with First or Business, sometimes not, but still seem to be in the first ones on the belt.
My understanding (though I haven’t tried it) is that you cannot checkin for a flight to Australia with a British passport if you are dual citizen as you have no ‘visa’ attached to your British passport so they they can’t validate your entitlement to travel to/return to Australia?
That's interesting because since completing mine I haven't once arrived on my UK passport and have always gone through, generally it asks me to speak to an agent but that just takes a few seconds each time.
15,000 points for me as a Platinum, would like to know how they decide the amount based on 'loyalty'...
Anniversary is May and currently over half way to renewal with SC's also had a few cancelled flights this year...
No lifetime status though, not too far away from Silver :)
Yeah, I much prefer the DFW Flagship over the LAX one, much bigger, though the scrambled egg had a weird texture when I was in the DFW one last week :)
Haven't had a chance to use the re-opened First at LAX yet.
QF8 - Sun 14/11 Y Flex to J ATG
Was rather miffed that they took the points given that this was my 3rd attempt to leave Texas, original flights cancelled and rebooked connecting flight delayed to the point of missing the rebooked QF12, then ended up back on QF8 again 3 days later!
I've had two replies from Qantas Customer Care this week for issues I haven't raised, one was about IFE not being available and now I've just had a reply about a seat not being available on a London to Darwin flight in June!
I have some serious privacy concerns about who is getting what...
