Thanks NM. When you've made the payments were the AA agents aware that you were using an Aussie card? eg by looking at your address/phone details in your AAdvantage account? They knew I live in Australia (told me so) and said they couldn't process my CC and to call the Aus. AA number to pay.

Always rang the AA number in US for my bookings and got from them the USD amount for taxes when they directed me to the Aus AA to make the payment.

Not sure what's a valid award? Region-wise, it's basically South Pacific to South America Region 2 with no other intervening regions, and no stopovers. The last leg was priced at 10,000 miles, SCL-GRU on Y. So the complete one way travel SYD-AKL-SCL on J then SCL-GRU on Y. Should be a valid...

Just to clarify, the 2nd leg is AA (OW on TAM) and SCL not a stopover. Region-wise, it's basically South Pacific to South America Region 2. So hopefully you're right about the F class. I'll call AA to confirm. Thanks.

Thanks. Per my reply to magtron, I didn't purchase the tickets with my CC. It's a QFF award booking where I transferred the requisite points from Citi Rewards to my QFF account.
