Hertz points now expiring after 12 months!!

This really is disgraceful behaviour from Hertz. It would be interesting if the ACCC were to learn of this - their 2019 report on loyalty programs specifically highlighted the requirement to provide substantial notice of any changes to expiry rules. What Hertz has perpetrated is simply worst in...

    Points for surfing the web

Here's your challenge: "A valid search is where you do a unique search at least 3 seconds apart or you click through on at least 1 of 10 search results. The Toolbar won't reward repetitive searches that are seen to be fraudulent."

Getting the Most out of flybuys?

Re: Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance EDR is useless for all of my top-up shops - nothing if I spend under $30. FlyBuys gives more points than Woolies for any shop under $50. And it's fewer points with FlyBuys to get a $50 gift card to use at Coles than it is for the Woolies...

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

whereas 14,500 pts = $100 Woolworths gift card values 2 points at about 1.4 cents.

Only $27.50 for the pleasure of ringing Qantas

Two aspects annoyed me: the call to action - "Order by phone at the Qantas Frequent Flyer Store" - actually encourages members to use the phone option. For the cost, who in their right mind would? I'm unaware for how long the $27.50 charge has applied, but by any reasonable measure the fee...

Only $27.50 for the pleasure of ringing Qantas

From their last frequent flyer newsletter: Order by phone at the Qantas Frequent Flyer Store You can redeem your points for over 1,300 products from the Qantas Frequent Flyer Store by phone, as well as online. To order by phone, call the Qantas Frequent Flyer Store Contact Centre on 1300...

Getting the Most out of flybuys?

Re: Hahaha - How Bad FlyBuys Really Is Coles (at least Wesfarmers) owns 50% of FlyBuys, so it's a moot point. Agree that active number of members is important; from a sample of one (me!) it's easy to stay active because it's working well for me.

Getting the Most out of flybuys?

Re: Hahaha - How Bad FlyBuys Really Is Dying scheme? With just 10 million cardholders? I don't have any trouble, and have never had any trouble getting rewards - often. It may not suit "frequent flyers", because it's not a frequent flyer program - although I too have taken advantage of the...

    Future of fly buys

As far as I know, it's owned by Nab and Wesfarmers, not just the latter. So I don't think it's up to just Wesfarmers. I would have thought firstly that the data would be of great value to the various Wesfarmers businesses and secondly that the option for the big brands to stay in Fly Buys...

    Future of fly buys

I still use mine regularly - and regularly get rewards. I still think there's a big place for it. While all the credit cards now have separate loyalty fees, Fly Buys is still free. So why wouldn't I use it? It doesn't have some of the features of the credit card programs but it doesn't...

Booking class QF domestic award and flybuys

FlyBuys buy their tickets from Qantas and have much better availability than Qantas frequent flyers. And their booking service is a breeze to deal with.

    FlyBuys privacy policy change

"The other schemes" are credit cards schemes and ALL charge (explicitly or indirectly) for the privelege. FlyBuys is still free. I participate in the other programs, but whywouldn't you have a FlyBuys card if you did a reasonable amount of shopping at Coles, Kmart, Target, Shell etc...

Getting the Most out of flybuys?

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it? Even with Myer gone it shouldn't be too hard to rack up the 2,500 points through supermarket shopping, Shell, Target and the like.

    Myer (Store) Card Coming Soon

I wouldn't be surprised if this is part 1 of the strategy, with a fully blown credit card to follow. The immediate benefit of the store card is for Myer one members, who will get a 50% boost to their points per transaction if they use the Myer card as the payment mechanism.

Getting the Most out of flybuys?

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it? FlyBuys rewards now available from 2,500 points - get a $20 Coles, Target or Kmart voucher, or $20 credit on your NAB credit card. Looks good!

    FlyBuys privacy policy change

I’ve looked into this thoroughly and although I think it’s very wise to question these companies closely, I reckon the fears are largely unfounded in this case. Firstly, FlyBuys is OWNED by NAB and Coles Myer, so they are hardly likely to “sell” the data to them. And from speaking at length...
