    Multi booking SYD connection INT-DOM

Thanks all. Brilliant info. Like my booking it appears there's many moving pieces at Sydney airport to fall into place to say how this might go, but this is excellent info. I shall book the mid-day flight and wait patiently for Covid to throw spanners into the whole operation. I'll report...

    Multi booking SYD connection INT-DOM

I'd like to wish you all a very happy holiday period. I'm planning a trip back to Australia this time next year, and will likely be arriving into Sydney on BA15 (Avios 2-4-1 booking) at around 7am I then need to have a seperately booked VA flight to Melbourne. Notwithstanding all the usual...

    Velocity international award redemption.

I jagged 2 X adults + lap infant to Abu Dhabi from Manchester next year in business with Etihad, one way. 106k points and $1300. Didn't have enough points to get back so paid a cash fare of $1200 premium economy with BA back from DXB via LHR. All told the outlay was approx $700 more than the...

    VA2.0 International Partners

It seems the difference between UK departures and EU is only the APD (~$330/£180), and in the case of MAN vs AMS/CDG/MUC it's not even the full APD value, presumably due to the countries other fees. With all of Europe being between 2000-3000 miles from AUH there's no opportunities for reduced...

    VA2.0 International Partners

I'm always looking at this, but with EYs delightful carrier charges in business the maths don't quite stack up for the hassle, particularly given their schedule at the moment. Having a hunt around Europe it seems only Frankfurt and London have double daily departures, with the rest just the one...

    VA2.0 International Partners

First redemption booked. 36k points and $80 business one way from Boston to Montreal with Air Canada for 2 adults + lap infant mid next year. Cash fare economy w/bags was $700 and business was $1400. Apart from EY the redemption options are niche atm, but working for me. Ex-UK to AUH one way...

Etihad policy on rebooking for pax affected by COVID-19

A frustrating update. Bit the bullet after the UAEs travel/transit ban and subsequent definitive cancellation of our flight due this Saturday and called Etihad. Absolutely stonewalled in terms of a cash refund, which is disappointing, as my understanding is that EC261 should most definitely...

    Etihad cancellations

Hmm. One leg has now been cancelled. It was a VN flight, EY codeshare. All 4 other flights still appear to be operating. The email curiously mentions Covid-19 impacts as only being change fee free or credit worthy, if travel prior to June 30. Perhaps Etihad is following other airlines leads and...

    Etihad cancellations

Yep I'm holding out too. I can't see the harm in holding out, waiting for a cancellation, or hoping their policy will be amended again to better reflect that people that legally can't travel can also get a refund. We shall see. Due to be wheels up in 9 days.

Etihad policy on rebooking for pax affected by COVID-19

That's certainly how I read it. If you're advised not to go by your country you can change, if your origin or destination won't let you go it's a refund. I'm about to go through the process, albeit a thoroughly enforced cancellation due to my destination not allowing people from my origin. One...

So i finally made it to platinum.....

This. I've maybe had a greeting or something extra last 3/6 EY flights including on a AUH to Europe flight. I thought there may have been more of a focus on sectors to Australia, as presumably there's less EY FF top tier on these flights to Oz, so it was nice to get this elsewhere but shouldn't...

So i finally made it to platinum.....

Platinum has pretty nicely improved my recent travel experiences, and allowed me lounge access on 4 continents that wouldn't have otherwise been possible (well, gold and platinum have netted this). The F lounge in Abu Dhabi makes economy long haul so much less dreadful as there's a nice little...

    Etihad Lounge in KL

Thanks for the detailed response. In line with the constant changing of Etihads lounge info I could have sworn I used that page last week and came up blank, although perhaps my Internet skills just aren't what they used to be. I'm coming in on a VN flight (EY codeshare) so won't have the paper...

    Etihad Lounge in KL

I've had a hunt around online, and can't seem to find anything on the Etihad website or elsewhere from the last few years relating to which lounge I may be able to access as a Velocity Platinum departing KL with Etihad in a couple of months time. Can anyone confirm which one it (if any) it is...

2019 - The year in flight

33 sectors 120,699km / 74,999 mi Busiest year by far, and hopefully now being UK based can add plenty more airlines and airports for 2020! New airlines: BA, AZ, U2, BY, BE New aircraft: B787-9 & 787-10 New airports: NCE, MAN, LHR, BCN, FCO, MCY, TXL, SPU, AGA, DUS Shortest flight: MAN-LHR...

Wonderful generosity, but I certainly don't envy you having to select your favourite photo. There's some gems here!

Claiming VA status credits when Delta rebooks to another carrier

This would appear to have changed. 7 weeks ago had a mildly adventurous PER-SYD-MEL which was involuntarily changed to PER-MEL. Specifically requested an "Original Routing Credit" and as another commentator in a different thread said, was shown as "Bonus Points Adjustment" despite only being...

Have the rules changed earning points and sc on flight upgrades??

I'm having a similar issue, albeit crediting EY to VA. Flew AUH to HKG 7 weeks ago paid economy with a successful bid to business (Pretty nice). Showed up in my history a couple of days later sans any points and SCs. Followed up by email with BP and booking confirmation. Told it can take 4-6...

Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre takes 2 months to reply

This sounds like a skit from a TV show, if it was, I'm hooked. Surely you can fill us in a little bit more?

"You are in top 5% of Velocity Flyers." - and that is it??

Top 10%, 21956 Km 10 flights apparently, however I've done at least 14 so not sure if it doesn't count redemptions or connecting flights or something. Of course neither nor both of these numbers explain the discrepancy.
